Thanks Fladdict. I went to a 12 step meeting tonight and got a "24 hour" coin. I can't sleep at all. My muscles are convulsing and I get hot and cold flashes. All I want right now is for this week to be over. I almost called a connection tonight but called a co-worker who is in a 12 step program first and went to a meeting with him. It helped but now I can't sleep. This is really hard to go through. How long will the puking, runs, and convulsions last?
Yes, wdagain is right, I wish I had found this site earlier. I feel for your friend, it is really hard to make oneself go thru the torture of withdrawal and you are a wonderful person to help her.
Does she have access to the internet and this site?
My friend is addicted to Lorcet pills. She is taking up to ten a day and wants to stop but isn't sure how to. She has tried tapering but doesn't seem to be able to stand the withdrawl symptoms. She has three small children and is trying to detox at home. I want to help her but I don't know how. Can anyone help with suggestions for comfort during detox and shouldn't she be seeing someone professional for helping with the anxiety?
Welcome phil.. You are also in the right place... Can you taper??? Most addicts can't a few can with the help from a close friend or spouse.. Do you have a doctor that could give you "comfort meds" like clonidine to get you through the nasty stuff??
Stick around here a read alot.. you will get strength to do it from others here.. I know I did..
I am off to bed but will look for posts from you tommorrow to see how you are ok??
XOXO
I just took my last two tabs this morning. I have been hooked for over two years and have taken as many as 30 tens per day. I can't sleep. My muscles are convulsing and I need help getting through this. I am already thinking about calling my private "doctor" because I know I am going to get extemely sick the next few days. I don't want to. but don't want to be sick either.
thanks,
phil
You are Definitely in the right place, you will get valuable information and support. stay strong, its easier with friends encouraging you. I posted yesterday for the first time and have had great response and support from everyone. I postedon the Addiction Community Forum originally. I will be praying for you. Stay in the fight.

Welcome hun.. you are in the right place, The Thomas recipe can be helpful as well as the Amino Acid program that I used when I quit.. I just posted in another thread for Rayy if you would like to read that one.. Hot baths, lots of water, Immodium, vitamins,, all of that can help ease the symptoms that should last about 5-7 days with days 2-4 being the worst..
You can do it girl... Just keep fighting the fight
XOXO

Day 66
Well, here i am, comming off a three year Loritab addiction, going to Pain Management for three hernaited disc, gone through the nerve steroid blocks,(they helo alot), started with two Loritabs two times a day, now i am down to one every -4-5 hrs. I ran out of my prescription for the first time ever, and i have legs that feel like bees are crawling all over them, shakes, sweating, chills, really weird feelings all over my body. Can any one out there tell me what helps with this? What is the Thomas Recipe? I read it on this forum, and wondered if i might give this a try. I will take all advice at this point. I feel like i am loosing my mind here , but one thing about being on this computer it helps to read every ones input, i guess i could do this for days till i detox. You guys sound so good, it is good to finally find a forum to talk to some one who is dealing or has dealt with addiction, and withdrawal.
I will do that. should I include some Airborne or Nyquil? or is that to much? I left you a message on the community forum titled FLaddict & Friends with a detail amounts being given.
Thanks again for everything.

I saw you have 5HTP and valerian... 100mgs of 5HTp with the Valerian and calcium magnesium at bedtime will help her relax... Try it tonight and let me know how it goes
