I don't agree with this doc keeping you on this for weeks. It's keeping you in a holding pattern while he takes in more cash. there was a doctor here once who said that he only keeps them on sub for short times and doesn't milk it out like other docs. It would be more understandable for methadone but not for oxy or regular opiates. all the best
I have yet to see how much it's going to cost me, but it IS covered by my insurance, and I am going to get it through my psychiatrist in my Health Partners network. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he was one who could prescribe it! I didn't have to search for it!
That Doctor is chargeing you an awful lot of money. Check on prices with some other doctors in your area. Also ask your doctor if you can change to monthly visits because you can't afford weekly. I only go once a month to my Sub doctor. If your Doctor says no, then he is just in it for the money. My Doc only charges about 62.00 a visit.
Don't let him take advantage of you, speak with him about changeing to monthly.
Good luck.
Thanks. I am going to try turntohelp and the other links. My question is how to find a Doctor that doesn't charge so much per visit. I am feeling very good at 2 mg twice a day. I was moved up to 3 times a day last Thursday and so far I do not feel the need for that extra dose. When I first went to the DR I ask him "so have you treated a lot of people successfully with Suboxone" he said" I just recently began treating people with it" I respect his honesty. And I understand he is prescribing the suboxone as he was taught. I am not really thinking about next week, next month and what dose I will need. I am going with how I feel a day at a time. I know some form of aftercare is needed and will be looking at my options. All suggestions are appreciated.
You are concerned about the cost of the suboxone? I was just clarifying...that sounds expensive to me...1000 dollars a month is alot...others will post and u can compare prices that they pay and help see if your doctor is in the ball park price wise...you can always price shop and turntohelp has a zip code basis to give you sub docs in your area
i am going to send you a private message with a link for POSSIBLE free suboxone from the manufacture , but it requires some paperwork by your doctor...
watch for the message...
