Need advice ASAP (Hydrocodone Addiction)

Hello all,
     My question is pertaining to coming off opiates. I started recreationally using when I lost my job about 6 mts back> I mainly used for the energy, the high, and to cure boredom. I have realized at this point I am  physically dependent. I finally found an awesome job, so its time to quit for good. I am very worried however, about the upcoming drug test for employment. My last does was about 24 hrs ago, 4 hydrocodone 10's. How long should I wait before taking the test to make sure everything is out of my system. Im hoping to be able to take it by Thursday or Friday, but if I fail and lose this opportunity...well, thats just not an option. After 24 hours, withdrawl (withdrawal) symtoms (symptoms) havent been too bad, slept most of the day, but now I am awake at 6:30 am with basically no chance of sleeping.I know its gonna be bad from this point forward, but I think Im ready for it. Any help and advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for your input guys. @bugz yeah I know, pretty stupid huh? You would be suprised how readily available and rampant this problem is in young adults my age. So my plan is to just suffer through this and drink as much water as possible, take the test on friday. That's about 4 days from my last dose. I don't know how I let this get so out of hand, but before I knew it I was using 40-50 mgs a day. As I'm typing this my skin is crawling. Just wish I could sleep. Got to keep reminding myself that I got myself here and I can get out. Ready to have my life back...

Take a hot bath.. or hot shower.. that helps the creepy crawlies..

I would be straight up with the company you are going to work for and tell them that you are prescribed to pain medication for an injury even if you are not. I meant think about it, people that take hydrocone for pain can not get work because of a drug test? thats obsurd.

Nobody can tell you how to beat a drug test. If you can't prove you have a prescription, then they will red flag you. Also, if you wait too long to take the test, then they will red flag you. So I suggest getting it over with and pray..cuz there is a good chance you might be screwed. Good luck!

I agree with Claudia...don't lie and say you have a script if you don't. I get drug tested all the time for my job and if anything shows up you have to show them the bottle and have them doctor and pharmacy fax the information to them. If you say you have a script they will want you to prove it. If it were that easy nobody would ever fail a employment drug test for prescription meds.

Sure hope you realized how these pills can really mess up one's life. Stick around the forum and you will see just how devastating active addiction can be.
