Need advice...and help!

Hi. I have a past of opiate addiction and alcoholism. In 2009 was on Oxys for almost a year for back pain. Abused them and would get them from other places besides the pharmacy. Went on methadone and did a taper. Was sober for almost a year, In August this year I relapsed. I used for 6 weeks then went CT for 6 days and ended up using again. Its been 4 weeks of using again and I want off this crap. My need for help is this: Nobody know about this addiction. Not my family or my work. I have a management position with a lot of responsibility. I just took three days off when I went CT 4 weeks ago telling them I had the flu. Do I go back on methadone or try suboxone? If I go CT I will miss work again. Do I tell my work? I wont lose my job, I dont think. They do know that I have addiction in my past, they just dont know that I am currently using. I have enough meds to last until thursday and thats it. I was going to try to make it to Thanksgiving and go CT then. My son will be out of town and I would have 4 days alone. I just dont have meds to last until then. I am so alone in all this and I dont know what to do. I am so upset with myself that I got in this position again. I have Kratom but it doesnt seem to work enough to allow me to work. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I work at a small company and dont have vacation time. I am the general manager. Also if I go CT this weekend my son will wonder how I got so sick again in such a short time. He will want to take me to the hospital. That is why I wanted to make it to Thanksgiving. He will be with his mom for 5 days and I will have 4 days off. I would have to cancel dinner with my dad but I could pull that off. I think I am going to try to taper with a replacement therapy because I did it once with success and not too bad withdrawals. A quick taper, maybe 3-6 months tops.

Do not tell your job.  It is too risky.  Do a slow taper and take one day off like Ricart suggested.  Do you have a vacation day where you can take Friday off?  I would not take meth or suboxone you will have to taper off of them.  Suboxone is expensive.  Do you have a dr?  Ask him/her for Clonidine.  it is a blood pressure med that is good for opiate W/D. symptoms.  Let us know what you decide.

I would go on the suboxone or methadone-- a friend's son had great success with this and he was really in a bad way. Go to your doc first, or the clinic, whichever you have used in the past. Go to NA meetings! Look in your phone directory or google them on your computer to find one near you. You need the support right now, truly. Good luck and God bless.

Hi,plenty of people here including me have been there.Could you take off friday and then you would be able to get through the worst of it.If you do a little bit of tapering until friday it will help ease the transition.I myself, not good at tapering. There will be more on here to help. How much oxy are you using per day?
