Need help with Taper

by BigWill79, Apr 24, 2008 12:30PM
Ok, I posted a few times back in February and I have relapsed again.  I'm up to about 14-16 Loritab 10/500's or Norco 10/325's per day for the past two weeks.  I need to stop now and have recenlty told my girlfriend about the problem.  She has agreed to hold the pills for me and is going to help with the taper.  I went about 10 hours the other day and started getting bad withdrawals that fast.  So, I need a slow taper plan.  I would imagine starting at about 12 per day would keep the withdrawals to a minimum.  I can get what I need to make this happen and I'm letting my girlfriend hold the pills and my money while I get this done.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks so much for reading and for your help.

Do I need to space them out at certain times?  How many should I take at once?  Is four days enough to avoid major withdrawals?  Will dropping a half every four days be more or less beneficial?   Sorry for so many questions, I have no experience with tapering.  Thanks for responding to my post.

Will,

Only take one at a time. Try to space them at least evey 2 hours at first. this will get you started until avis can pm you a taper plan. Try to stick to a schedule.

At that dose I wouldn't drop more than 1 pill every 4 days.

ill be very brief,Like I told tina 466,
Cut your dose down only 20% each week and you will stop with almost no chance to start up again.
I was taking over 40 TRAMADOL PILLS A DAY and now down to 8. It works if you give it a try. CT is not easy and relapse is very possible. good luck to you
