Need help

I have a brother who is 28 years old who is addicted to alcohol and I believe meth and marajuana. He has been doing this since he was a teenager. We were not raised in drugs and alcohol. He doesn't think he has a problem. Then he says it's too late for him. My parents are just now coming to realize that he does have problem. He is now getting in trouble with the law. I have begged him to get help, my mother and father have begged him, but he refuses. My mother is a wreck, all of our lives are turned upside down because of this. I love my brother and I always will. How can I get him the help he needs, even if he doesn't want it, maybe it would open his eyes a little to see how life could be without drugs and alcohol and enjoy his two beautiful children that I take care of, can we get a court order in the state of Missouri? How do we go about finding the right Rehab? He is such a wonderful person when he is not using, he would do anything for anybody. Thank you

Sorry to hear your pain. I don't know anything about court ordered rehab unless it's as a result of a conviction or plea deal. As an addict I can tell you that I lied to myself as much or more than I lied to others about the seriousness of my addiction, when I did admitt it I thought it was to late for me. I had to be ready to take the help that was being offered to me. Addicts can't be forced into recovery. As sad as this is we have to want it more than anything for it to work. I wish I had better news. One thing you can do is look into and attend alanon meetings it will help you to release the hold that someone elses addiction has over you. You are not alone, you have to take care of yourself and your family kids and all right now. If and when your brother is ready you can support him in recovery. Good luck
