If your doctor said to wait 18 hours and you've already waited 24 hours.. chances are its fine to take it.  If you are nervous then wait until you cant stand it anymore and withdrawal sets in heavy.  And the above posters are soo right -- suboxone is a treatment program and works best when used in conjunction with therapy, meetings and building a very close and completely honest relationship with your doctor.  If you are that afraid, maybe go back to the doctor today and, like IBKleen referenced, start suboxone in office.  That's how I started mine.

I just went to the doctor yesterday and got the suboxens! I used at 4pm right before I went into the doctors! He told me to wait 18 hours before using the suboxone but I am nervous cuz I had a very bad experiance by taking suboxone to early in the past! I am now at 24 hours without using and I need to know if it's safe to take the suboxone?

I am glad to hear you are working with a doctor. Normally they dose you right in the office and monitor you so I am very surprised. I waited 15 hours and I was fine.

So follow his instructions. Again, good luck with it.

It's great you have a doctor you are working with, have you called his office for their advise for your treatment?  If I understand your post correctly it sounds as those you were tested, given a prescription for Suboxone and used the oxy in between the time you were to start on the Suboxone?

It is so very important to do the Suboxone program as determined by your doctor and to be completely honest with him/her. I certainly hope he/she has included a lot of after care to be used in conjunction with the medical treatment.

I wish you the best of luck  and really recommend you contact your physician for true medical advise.

The suboxone website and if you call the manufacturer's 800 number advises you should take your first dose in Moderate withdrawal.  If 18 or 23 hours and your not feeling too sick yet - then wait.. I would probably wait it out as long as you can until you are pretty moderately in withdrawal.  Goodluck.

The sub Will boot out the oxy almost immidiately and you will withdrawal hard off the oxy. I am not sure of the time line but do not take the sub until atleast 12 hours after your last oxy and not until you feel the withdrawals from the last oxy you took. The sub blocks the opoids from receiving the oxy and your body will go into withdrawal mode from the oxy.

Are you under a doctor's care with the Suboxone? If so, you need to follow the doctor's instructions. Suboxone is not just a pill to ward off withdrawal, it is a complete program which usually includes counseling, etc.

If you are taking Suboxone which you purchased on the street, we cannot give you dosing advise. It is a violation of our guidelines. Sorry and I wish you the best.
