I havent been called in (yet) for a pill count, but I know he does it. I am totally prepared for anything anytime. I CANT lose my PM Dr. I just C A N T handle the pain....
In my area its seriously hard to get another PM Dr. if youve been discharged for a positive UA
Good Luck
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O. or DO) is an academic degree offered in the United States. It is a graduate-level first professional degree for physicians and surgeons, requiring four years to complete. Holders of the D.O. degree are known as osteopathic medical physicians. D.O.s are trained much in the same way as M.D.s, with the addition of osteopathic manipulative medicine techniques.
my pain management contract is STRICTLY enforced.. Random UA several times a year. Pos. for weed is attomatic dischage
I have to have a urine test done every month that is just how my doctor works, which doesnt bother me, now if he did a pill count where he could just call me anytimes and I would have to take my meds to his office that would bother me alot, it sounds like they don't trust you to take them as prescribed. each pain doctor has their own pain contracts I guess and we just have to live with them if we want our pain meds each month, I don't smoke pot though so that isnt a problem for me.
D.O. is an Osteopath and the same as a M.D. but he can do manipulations like a chiropractor. These pain docs have the power and seem to like it. I've seen many people with chronic pain get kicked off for getting high, false positives and any reason they want. You are at their mercy and the same thing can happen if you move or the doc retires. You can be in a world of pain and withdrawal because of a small mistake.
Appaerently a D.O. is a legal drug dealer my DO which i droped is the one who gave me so many script's and told me to get ready to be on pain meds my whole life, at one time he was my comp. DR. and my family and was seeing me twice a month once as family dr the other as comp. and he was giving me oxy's one visit and perk's, soma, and benzos the next I loved him for awhile.
no. but i signed a contract to absolve my doctor of any harm coming to my liver as a result of the meds he was giving me. how sick is that? sway
I believe that a D.O. is a Doctor of Orthopedics....
I was also smoking weed awhile back for a kinda reason. I dropped 35pounds in six months for no reason.Went I hit under 200 pounds I got really nervouse. I see my docotr regualry becuase I have medical problems and no particular reason for the sudden wieght lose showed up in blood work and exame. I was smoking every afternnon for awhile to give myself the munchies and eat a good diner. i just wasnt hungry and was dropping wieght fast.
Then I went through a thing were I stopped taking my oxys cuase I was abusing them and tried to go back down to my vicodones. I ended up in the ER in a major anxiety attack and and came clean to my doctor I was having a problem with the oxys in my life. I was switched to the patch and everything settled down. I started sleeping all night and eating right again, my appatite came back and I have put on five pounds in two and half weeks. I was so messed up on the oxys I wasnt eating right,no apiatite God, they literealy took over my life. Everything revoloved around them, everything.
Not to sound like a knuckle head, whats a "D.O.?"
thx

I used a pain md for awhile and one of the reqirements was a signed contract stateing that I have listed all the medications I am ( was ) currently takeing and that I agreeded that I would take his prscriptions as stated on the label or our contract could be terminated at his descression if not.
Needless to say, I terminated him at MY descression. Not all pain mgmnt. Dr.s are like the one I went to, thank goodness. You shouldn't have any problems as long as you are honest with him and take his ( her ) meds only as she prescribes, just don't ever call in early for a refill. If you need to talk to her, do so at your next appt abt. changeing your prescript., never over-use. Your Dr.'s nurse may not remember you if you call in for any questions and that will block any furture relations with your Dr.
Never use a D.O., that's just my opinion. I'm sure there are alot of good d.o. s out there I just haven't met one.
If your ua is clean the first time I don't think it will be tested every time unless you told them you have been through n.a. or a.a. ......... no promises, okay? I never had to give a ua or any blood work either.

Mine mentioned the herb just as well.....but the first time I talked to the therapist I told her that I would probably be positive for THC as long as she tested for it. Smoke once a month and you may test positive. She said that the pot wasnt a huge concern of hers. And it was never an issue after that for me.......
