I am extremely curious to hear everyone's input on this subject. To me it is just like the mixed truth about can you work out your abdominal muscles everyday or do you need to rest them like every other muscle. One trainer will say yes and the other no, but obviously this is a serious serious serious question at a higher level. I know that most of us are not doctors but please tell me what you know so that I can base my decision on your influence... the question.....CAN YOU DIE IF YOU COLD TURKEY A 14 NORCO 10/325 MG PILL HABIT A DAY?????????? I have heard yes and no, but if anyone has the time I would greatly appreciate your opinion and knowledge.. Thank you so much for taking time to read this and I respect and love you very much.
As long as your otherwise healthy. No it wont kill you. The best advise would be to consult your DR. They know you best. I went cold turkey off a 15-20+ 10/500 a day hydro habit and i am fine. Although i thought i was dying...lol. When i talked to a DR last year he told me you can not die from opiate wd. Hope this helps...Good luck
this_big, great reply, that info helps a ton especially when you say you cold turkey 10/500 because Norco has less acetametiphine then your pill and to be quite honest that is what scares me the most is stopping the tylenol intake so fast. but thanks for your time.. cant wait to see what others say... and p.s i have gotten those spam post about suboxone and I think it is a marketing tool to scare people into buying there product. who knows.
Yeah i say 10/500..that is what i got the most of..lol..I would take the Norcos the 10/650s.. Oxys. But my main supplier had the blue 10/500s. I've never heard anything about abruptly stopping Tylenol. As far as it being bad for you...only it being good for you.IDK though. The liver is an amazing organ. You can get simple blood work to find if theres any damage. Yeah agreed on the sub Drs..One had the nerve to come on this forum the other day and "advertise". Phone # and everything!!..He/she said something to the effect that Percocet withdraw can and will kill you.. Good luck man
Thanks ballgame.. I tried to to taper off before but it is the worst thing I could have done because all it did was spring me into a higher dosage.. I live in L.a and there literaly is no fcking hope out here for detox. All the centers care about is your money and the minimum is like 6 grand. Are you kidding me, 6k to get clean and that is the cheapest. Im not going to lie but cold turkey scares the **** out of me, i have tried all the recipes but can not get past 48 hours, thanks for your input.
Again thank you this_big.. dont you remember the days when we would take half a pill with a diet coke or a cup of coffee and get high off our *****. Now i pop 3 every 3 hours just to not get sick. Everyday I wake up and say I am only gonna take 6 today but it runs my life completely. I hate this so much.. Everyday I wish i was a F list celebrity so I can go on that show celebrity rehab where they pay YOU to get clean and watch you 24hrs. Never in my life I thought that getting help is harder then getting pills. Anyways have a good one.
I am on day 7 clean of taking 10/325 norcos about 10 a day. I did it cold turkey and I am fine. Just like this_big said I sure felt like I was lol,,I had been taking them over 7 years. After day 4 is when I started feeling like maybe I will be normal again,,,as everyone says hell yes it is rough but talking now on day 7 it was soooooooo worth it,,,Good luck,,,if you are ready to stop you will!!!!! If your unsure I would talk with a dr,,I am not sure what or if you have any medical issues,,,
Well.....You basically have to ask yourself a simple yet complex question: "Am I truly done with opiates?". If you truly want to quit then cold turkey is the only way. Tapering is a difficult and next to impossible feet. Yes, many on here have done it but why torture yourself longer than you have to. Detoxing from hydros is difficult but luckily hydrocodone has a short half life and is water soluable. This basically means that if you can drink a lot of water, cranberry juice, and other anti-oxidant fluids you will get the opiates out of your system faster. Also, if you combine a good healthy diet along with the amino therapy in the health pages section you will find a plethera of natural suppliments that you need and ought to take. This will shorten both the intial physical affects of detox and the longer PAW's affects. You can do this.....All you need is little bit of will power, dedication, and a lot of immodium! :) Truly, best of luck to you and I hope you choose to quit....I am a quitter and quitter's love company!
Hey jillbo272.. what does it feel like to be clean for 7 days? do you get your thoughts back? is there a sign of actually becoming your old self again? I love hearing these stories because it adds fire to my will power.
Thank you so much for that piece of info, it helps tremendously. I definetly am and have been ready to stop using, its just that I am super super scared to physically not mentally. Thanks again for your input and advice. all the respect to you.
It feels wonderful,,,I feel like myself again,,,First 4 days I didn't think I was going to make it,,,I came clean to everyone around me that was important,,,that was my way of not going back,,I was so scared to tell my family but they have been so supportive,,,The last two days I have woken up and thought to myself,,,wow I can be myself again,,,I didn't even notice the person I had become,,Its nice to be back in my mellow state of mine,,not this fake happy person that doesn't give a **** about anything,,I really can not believe how far I have come in 7 days,,I have been back to work for 3 days,,I can handle the stress without the thought of oh damn I am so taking a pill to deal with all of this,,,I have not had one thought of damn if I just had a pill,,,that is how I knew I was ready this time,,I do wish you the best and I do know how hard it is,,I am on here allot so if you need to talk,,,I am here,,this website helped me out so much,,,I knew I wasn't alone in this battle but to be able to talk to people who felt just like I did REALLY helped,,
Oh yeah i remember those days. I was on top of the world. And the using just not to get sick. Hell i needed those little bastards just to feel "normal".
Tapering... What a joke..Its like giving a 5yr old one of those Christmas calendars with the chocolate behind each day. There is no way in hell they will just eat todays piece...lol..Thats the way it was for me anyway..lol..I guess i've been an addict my whole life.:-/. I have alot of respect for people who manage to do it.
Cold turkey CAN be done. You just have to tighten your boot straps and ride it out. You can do it now, or you can do it later. At one point you WILL have to do it. Best of luck man. If i can help in any way just let me know...
The advice so far is spot on, ct from opiates won't kill you. Sure you can do this. The only symptom on your liver from abruptly stopping tylenol is a better functioning liver.
this_big....YES the Christmas calendars!!! That gave me a good laugh....then I thought about it.......and I thought that it is like the calendars BUT.......it's like all the windows are already opened and you have to LOOK at all the chocolates each time you get your next piece!!! ha ha Tapering is impossible unless we have a gestapo giving us our daily dose.
CT is easier. Make a plan. Don't do it until you are 100% ready to do it and then get it done. You don't have to count pills and days on the calendar for the rest of your life. The madness ends when you say it does.
HI....welcome to the forum......you have been givin some great advise all readyjut remember this is 1/3 physical and 2/3 mental....I truly believe this is a battle one or lost in ones own mind....everyone is always afraid of the physical..first off try not to let fear into the equation it only makes it wirst and its always worst in our minds then it turns out to be...second be ready for a battle in your mind it is the mental aspect that leads to most relapses I dont try to play down the physical it s u c ks but rather I try to prepare you for the mental battle the cravings the triggers the feeling like he!! coming off this stuff...you really need to have a plan for that and thats where aftercare comes in...its never to soon to start for N/A all you need is the desire to quit to attend meetings....first off lets get you threw a detox for the next 4 days your going to feel like you have the flu with some added anxiety ....get comfortable with the saying....'''you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile'' it will serve you well over the next week....look up the thomas recipe you will find it on the right hand side of the screen....get everything you can afford it will help ez the withdrawals....a hot bath goes a long way in ezing withdrawal symptoms you may need several a day...rent some movies your probably not going to sleep much so they will give you something to do will your up all night....keep reading the posts it will help you understand what your about to go threw...keep posting for support good luck and God bless......Gnarly
