Norco withdrawal

Hello everyone. I've been on norco 10/325 for over a year. Recently taking 10-12 a day for that last 3 months. I've taken my last pill today and plan to start the Thomas recipe tomorrow.
I'm completely scared because I have 2 small kids and Christmas is in a Few days but my boys are out of school for 3 weeks so it gives me time to sleep and relax.
I'm just curious if there is anyone who was taking the same amount of norcos as I was and had success with the Thomas recipe? Id like to avoid as much of the withdrawal symptoms as possible. I will not be taking any of the benzos or Xanax etc as I do not have access to them and feel I probably won't need them.
Just a little positive reinforcement and advice would be great! Thank you so much. I'm so excited to get my life back. I've noticed that they aren't giving me that feel good feeling anymore and are leaving me moody and tired. I'm ready to be DONE!!

I just re-read what I wrote, and I don't want my post to be construed as discouraging you from quitting.    Opiates wreck your life, and your decision to stop is the BEST gift you could give your family.

It's a great decision...keep us close, and it will be easier.  There is wonderful emotional support here.

Hi honey:

Does your doctor know you plan to quit?  It might be wise to tell him/her.

There is no way to avoid withdrawals completely. The Thomas recipe is NOT a cure for them...it just helps with some of the more difficult symptoms.

I'm a tad concerned by your sentence that you have 3 weeks to rest and relax.   You might be lucky; your usage has been short compared to others, and if you're young (I'm assuming, since you have small children) then your withdrawals may not be as intense as they were for me...but be prepared to possible have:  leg cramps, aches, trouble sleeping, anxiety, diarrhea, cravings, etc.   I could not relax OR rest...but I AM probably 20 years older than you.

I wish you luck...let us know how you are doing...

Hugs,

Hello
I wish you so much success in getting off the Norcos.  I am in the same boat.  Taking 10/325 for almost a year now and I am now tapering off. Today I started 2 a day and should be done completely by Jan 18 or sooner.  Hopefully you will check in and let us all know how your doing.  I am sure a lot of people will be along shortly to talk about their success with the Thomas recipe.  The only thing I did go buy was B12 sublingual as I was told by someone else on here getting off oxy's that it helped by giving them energy.  I haven't taken it much but I will probably start soon.  Please keep us posted and good luck!

Hi, welcome!  I just wanted to reach out to tell you that you have found an amazing support system on this site.  You will hear from many others and everyone is so inspiring and willing to share their experience and unconditional support. I am jumping Friday and over the past 5 years have taken Percocet 10/325 and OxyCotin 60mg in varying amounts. The least I took was 2 10/325 per day, and at my peak up to 140mg between both drugs.  I tried jumping from about 2 10/325 and still experienced withdrawals.  I think I let fear and my mind get the best of me and therefore did not succeed. I refuse to fail this time.  I am a 40 year old mom of 5 year old twins and I work as a financial professional with a high stress job.  I know it is difficult to detox with other responsibilities but we can do it!!! I am here for you, hang in there!
