Hahahahaha! Valerian root smells like filthy goat's ***! I think I'm just trying to fix something that the only real prescription is "tincture of time". I am really paranoid about otc's as I seem to have a paradoxal reaction. Benadryl wires me, valerian makes me tingly (not in a pleasant way) & even the rx Lunesta made me feel like I was coming out of my skin. I fight the insomnia & refuse to get up until I absolutely have to! It's my right to sleep & I'm angry that I can't. I know I should get up but I am no longer finding bed to be the restful santuary it once was. Sigh! This too, will pass.
Hey hun I know it may be frusterating but 12 days Rockes!!! You should be very proud of yourself. I promise its all worth it, everyday is a new day! If you have a family dr you should call and tell them you are having trb sleeping, I was lucky to not have that prob because I take a non narcotic sleep med called trazadone, it is amazing!!! Tame, I didnt notice it. I tried valerian but that didnt seem to work for me. Perhaps give that a try. Its pretty cheap too. Its stinks too high heaven, but once it's down you can taste it.

I would not recommend having a smoke, for several reasons, when you withdraw your heart palpitates and you become anxious just another late withdraw symptom. Also you will become depressed another late stage of withdrawal. Having a smoke will exacerbate
your systems.
Once all chemicals have left your body, then you will sleep.
If its bad, try some sleeping aids. Like Valeria Root. Or some over counter sleeping pills. Be careful not to depend on them too much try taking them one every second night.

Tame, nice going on day 12! It really does take a while. The first night i slept for more than 2 hours at a time was the day i exercised. I hate exercise, but have been doing 15 mins everyday to ehlp with sleep. I take a shower, take melatonin (1-1mg) and Calcium tablet, drink a cup of sleeptime tea and that seems to be workign well. Hang in there. I know lack of sleep stinks, but it will happen. i promise. Dont give in! SOmeoen told me last night that there are few that make it to day 20 becasue of this stuff. Push through it and beat the statistics! I am praying for you. xxoo
benedryl helped me, but I also take klonopin (fibromyalgia - no sleep), and a nice hot bath before bed too! congrats on day 12...what an accomplishment, I'm on day 6 and last night I slept decent enough, but I'm still dragging! You''ll make it!
