OMG Please Tell Me I Won't Relapse

Went to DR. today I have bronchitis,she gave me antibiotics and cough med. told her no hydro in cough me been clean for 14 days today,fille scripts came home to antibiotic and 1 teaspoon of cough med 15 min later I said wait a minuet I know this warm fuzzy feeling,got out cough med did internet search sure enough hydrocodone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why I told her no,will I go through w/d again after 1 teaspoon?

Doubtful but can you go purchase some OTC cough syrup without the hydro?

I dont think 1 tsp will cause withdrawal at all.. please please dump that cough syrup!!!  If it sits there, chances are you are going to take it.. pour it down the drain and get some OTC cough syrup.. I relapsed in Dec/Jan and it all started with bronchitis and a bottle of cough syrup with codeine (not even hydrocodone).. Good job on being honest with your idiot doctor.. now just pour it out and move on. No need to be worried or dwell at all.. Just be on your a-game cause chances are even a teaspoon will kick those cravings into overdrive so its best to not have it around.. good luck!

1 spoonfull won't cause W/D, but it will call your name if you keep it around.
Keep your guard up for cravings!!
Don't have anything for the cravings to call you on.

Thank you all so much for the encouragement,I have been in full blown anxiety mode all day because of that one teaspoon,imagineing all kinds of things that i know are not really happening,i am terrified of w/d's and never want to go through them again,the bottle got dumped as soon as I found out it had hydro in it. $60.00 down the toilet but my recovery still going strong ! Thanks again everybody,this forum and everyone on it is why I am clean today and I am determined to stay that way!

no..u will not..everyone is different but u have enuf clean time so that 1 tsp//which is 5 mgs of hydro//should not push u back/if at all...chunk it and get sumpin over the counter..I have some coricidin night time stuff that stops ur cough at night//works well///also try robitussin for the daytime...flush that stuff or give it away cos every tsp is 5-6 mg of hydro....be safe and keep posting

Glad to hear you got rid of it.  Calm yourself as you will be okay.  OTC cough medicine works just as well.  Hope you are feeling better soon........sara
