ON DAY 6 AND.....BUT STILL HAS RLS AT NIGHT

Today is day 6 for me and i feel awesome during the day, its just at night is when its gets a LITTLE rough.  I get rls and i get it in my arms too.  Ive been taking xanax which i HATE but its the only way i can fall asleep.  I bought the sleepy time extra tea last night but couldnt bring myself to drink, it tastes HORRIBLE, to me, but im not a big tea drinker.  My fiance still has his vicodin from getting his tooth pulled and i have not an ounce of desire to take one.  Im not worried about the mental part at all, i got that down :)  I WAS worried about how I was gonna adjust to life without those little yellow devils (norcos) because when you live your life a certain way for so long, i thought itd be the most challenging part, to readjust, but now that i feel better, i feel just like i did when i was on them.  Well not the part when you first feel it but after that initial buzz goes away, thats exactly how i feel now.  So now if i can just get thru the nights, Ill b totally back to normal :D

Yeah i gotta try it, i really think id be fine because of how easy ive had it this whole time.  I swear its mind over matter, and a week ago id say you were nuts to think that, but its true! Im not a very spiritual person but i prayed to God and thanked him for making this so easy! But it was hard enough to know better to do it again.  Kinda like if you touch a hot flame, you know to never do it again. Ive heard alot on here that the physical addiction is the easy part, its the mental that gets you. But for me anyway, thats the last thing im concerned with, my fiance has vics right now and i know where they are, I really just dont want one, even to take away any wd i may have had or have, just dont want them!   Well CONGRATS GIRL!!! KEEP IT UP!!!! Im always on this so if you need ANYTHING just write ;)

You're soooo right! Time heals all wounds and we need to accept what we put ourselves into! Oh I'd need a plane to get where you are...I live in Winnipeg,Manitoba and it's funny cause Chicago is the only place in the U.S. that has our same time zone...but thanks for the offer...lol
So I finally got  hours of sleep from 810am to 1030am! Wow! It's funny cause while I was lying there, my legs didn't feel so funny and I said to myself "k Danielle, relaz, omg, don't skrew this up, sleep" and I did. I lyed there once I woke up and my legs weren't so bad!!! Horray!!
How will you know if you need help to sleep if you don't give it a try first without anything...I'd go for it!!!
Thanks for the help and amazing advice!!

Hey, Flexeril is just a muscle relaxer I was prescribed a looooong time ago that I just never used til now.  Im on day 7 and Im pretty sure i can sleep on my own now, just scared to try lol.  ANyway, not sure where you live but I know we are in the same time zone at least, live in the chicago suburbs and if we are close id be happy to give you some of these, Im sure thats not recommended by most on here but I know how you feel.  However, flexeril is NOT a narcotic, nor will you even realized youve taken it until you no longer feel the rls, and for some people it knocks them out.  I take it for the rls, it doesnt make me sleepy but my neighbor has fybromyalgia and it knocks her on her *** lol.  Have you tried advil or tylenol pm? Those helped me the second night, but I woke up groggy.  But theres also the point bmdad made, time helps too.  Times heals EVERYTHING including this BS that were going thru now, but we made our bed, now its time to lye in them.......awake or asleep ;)  Let me know if i can help you in any way!

Sleep is normally very hard to come by especially during the first week. About the only thing that helps with sleep is time. Your body can only go so long without sleep and it you will eventually fall asleep. I know it seems like time is going by in slow motion but it will happen. The insomnia was one of the last symptoms to go away for me but it will start to get better. After about 5 days I started getting about 5 hours of sleep each night and it got better from there. Just give it time and it will get better for you.

Hang in there. The pain we have to endure during withdrawals is worth every second. I promise!

Hi Lexuskenna. Well I'm no doctor but no I don't think it matters what you do during the day. Whether you're active or a couch potato, I think the RLS is there and takes time to leave darn it!! What is flexeril? I tried Malatonin (wrong spelling I'm sure) but it's not working. I'm still sooooo tired but my body is saying "stay up, stay up, I need a tramadol...please! God I hate pills. Good to hear you hate Xanax!!!

Hey, ive been taking flexeril at night and i think that helps but it doesnt totally take it away. I was going to ask you, do you think my activity during the day has anything to do with the rls? Like if im doing alot during the day will it be worse? Because ive been trying to keep myself as active as possible.  And yes Dani, its called sleepytime. I noticed there were other brands that had what im guessing is the same thing, like there were some called "nighttime" and things like that, I dont know if the taste is any different.  Im supposed to be taking xanax and an antidepressant but Im pretty sure now that those were only prescribed to me cuz I thought i was going crazy and having panic attacks from the vicodin cuz now my head is soooo clear and i realize that I dont need those either.  However the first couple nights I took the xanax to relax my muscles so i could fall asleep.  But I dont wanna sub one pill for another, although I dont think that would happen becuz I HATE HATE HATE xanax, i dont like the way it makes me feel nor do i like what it does to me the next morning, too groggy and cant get motivated.

thanks guys! ;)

HI Lexus....you might want to try a product called highlands restful legs ....you can pick it up at walmart in the vitamin herbal section ...it has helped me and a lot of our members its all natural I took 2 an hr till it went away....the tea is a lot more drinkable with some honey or sweetener in it ....its still not great but it makes it drinkable good luck with your recovery

You're so right! Making the decision to say NO MORE is amazing for everyone on here.
Those rls are awful and I hate them as well! Did you get any advise on how to minimize that? People are saying that bananas along with potassium herbal vit help alot. I haven't tried that but I'll give it a shot tonight!!
Oh and good to hear that day 3 was the last day for you! Positive thinking for me then!! ahhhh lol

Congrats on day 3! Day 3 seemed to be the last day of the harder part of wd.  Although ive had it fairly easy, I didnt have hardly any of the symptoms i read about. EXCEPT the rls lol.  But your right, now its all down hill.  Im so happy to be off those ****** things! I can LIVE now! :)

CONGRATS on making the decision to start the quitting process, Id say that was the hardest part for me thus far!

Oh I totally know how you feel! Day 3 for me without tramadol and no sleep! People are saying to me "hey remember the first day of withdrawal? Well be happy you're done with that, now this is the easy part." I have to look at it that way or I'll go nuts. I just say well, no sleep but no addiction either!!! Horray!! I know it's hard to think that way but give yourself a pat on that back!! Good luck and good night...
