Oc withdraws, advice, anything...

I'm sorry everyone I don't know how to use this I've never even posted on a blog or fourm before but thank you for letting me know how to do this. Thank you so much for writing back I feel like I'm going to go crazy. I'm so glad to know that these are hopefully the worst days. I've been using for about a year 1/2 or two, the most I've dealt with is being clean for 2 weeks at one point. Everyday I use, there was a couple times where I quit but no longerthen 2 weeks sometimes just even 4 days. I want to use morethen anything but I'm
pretty young and I just want to get my life together while I still can. I'm so tired and confused I don't know if what I wrote even makes sense I just don't know how to live a life being sober. Before I used ocs I had my fair share with other substances. It's been way too long and started at a young age, i don't know what to do I feel so awful about myself and my poor body all this abuse, stress and depression. Please help

Hi! I'm glad you found your way here.

Everything you are saying makes sense and you are in the right place.

So you want to get clean...that is a first great step. You can do that by just quitting and since you have done that before, you know you will suffer physical and mental withdrawal. The physical will last about 5 to 7 days (we can help with that) and you will start to feel better. The mental part of addiction is a little tricky and I suspect that is what got, and kept, you using all this time.

Do you think you are ready to start and what things do you think you need to do different this time?

Well I'm on day 3 I'm just so confused. I feel like i don't love anyone anymore. Mostly all of my friends used at one point but everyone is forced to quit concidering ocs aren't around anymore and they are making the ops. I think I need to just focus on myself but the one thing that makes me happy is helping other people. I want to use forever I don't even care anymore.

You're on day 3 of withdrawal? If so then it makes sense that you are feeling emotional. All of the things you haven't felt in a long time as coming to a head. Take it slow and don't let it overwhelm you. this is not a time to make decisions on what you are going to do in the future, or even tomorrow. Focus on today and get through it.

Are you feeling sick to your stomach? Chills? Anything like that?

Yes, day 3. I am okay, I weened myself down for about a week or two before I went cold turkey, so the chills aren't too bad the Restless leg never fails for me I even feel like I get it in my arms. Headache, runny nose, lots of sneezing, stomach aches come and go but I have a lot of different remedies I've been using. Honestly this is the easiest it's been but at the same time, going to be the hardest because hopefully it's the last time. Do you think maybe I didn't feel the withdraws as much because I tapered down slowly and because ive drank and used other substances? Or will it get worse. I'm scared it's going to be very hard because it's not like every other time I quit. This time it has to be forever.

Don't give up now..you're on day 3 and know what to expect the next few days....start taking walks, do stuff around the house and find other ways to keep your mind off the pills and the withdrawal...tapering down helps...that's how I finally got off of tramadol and I've been off for over 30 days and there's no going back...drinking is not going to help...get yourself away from friends who are addicts..

As IBKleen said, focus on one day at a time and get through it...and stay in touch with us....and best of luck to you.

hey you are doing great! day 3 is a b*tch, just get through it, k? usually it gets better after day 3. yes the taper helped make this detox not as physically bad as the last one, plus knowing that you can't get any oc's helps. even though wd's are a physical process a lot of it is mental. like if a funky transporter dropped you in to a house where everyone had tons of oc's versus it dropping you onto an island where there was not one, the kick in the house of oc's would be 50 times worse.
don't worry about "I just don't know how to live a life being sober" stuff right now, just get through the wd's and then just start doing stuff. no great big overwhelming thoughts about living life, just put one foot in front of the other and do things, small things at first, and more each day. besides the things you have to do, do things you enjoy, that make you happy, too. after a while you'll realize that you ARE living life, it is just that easy. :)

I've been clean for a week and almost 3 days but I have been feeling very sick. Chills, sore joints, cough, stuffy nose, earache, sore throat, I think I just caught something but my friend insists it's withdraws. Thoughts ?

Also have restless leg very bad.

Hi!  If you have an earache and cough, I would say it's a bug or allergies or something like that.  The joints being sore and shills could be WD, but the rest sounds like something else.  Drink some hot tea with honey and take a hot bath.  800 mg of advil will help too if you can take that!

Check your temp.  You may need to give a doctor a call tomorrow if you don't feel better!

...take your temp before you take any advil or OTC's...

After 10 days, this is something else...lots of fluids and rest. You've done so well so far...

Proud of you!!!

I am betting you caught something. I am 70 days clean and have flu like symptoms right now and restless legs. I feel like crap but this too shall pass. Congrats on your sobriety!! Even if what you are feeling is still a bit of withdrawals, Don't give up!! You've come so far and fought so hard now.

Every day you will feel better and better, stronger and stronger, you know that already. You know you need to do this. Just keep moving as you can and keep posting here to us.

Try a hot bath before you go to bed!  Also, heating pad on your legs and Hylands Restful Legs works wonders!!!  Mag/cal/zinc supplement is good for that too.  I still take it!

Hey You!!!

2 Weeks is amazing!!!!

It is VERY normal for symptoms to come and go for a little bit.  It feels like the "one step forward....two steps back"  thing sometimes.

Despair not!!!!  It WILL go away.  RLS and sleep issues are always the last thing to leave.

Keep keeping.......you have made amazing progress and your kicking legs and sleepless nights will soon be only a bad memory!!!!!!
