for those that don' remember me I'm 72 yrs old and only take pain pills (hydrocodone) when I can't stand the pain any longer. I had back surgery in Dec. and then nerve block about six weeks ago. It has helped but still can't walk any distance. I've lost touch with a lot of friends.(?) That kind of depresses me. I use to be so lively. Husband has to go to our church function by his self..He's not happy about that. Having said all that I wouldn't go back to the way it was for anything. So for all of you just starting this journey just know it is all worth it. Don't forget to check in here to get refueled and if you can, go to na/aaa for support. Hey Tooter good to see you post great to see you clean your right it has been a wile  I can relate to the back problems  today I deal with thim best I can but im limited in what I do just do the best you can enjoy the little things in life to this day I still write out a gratitude list daily  you just have to make the best of what life gives you today thanks for posting............Gnarly

Of course I remember you. It's fantastic to hear from you. I'm sorry about you not being able to get out much. I had 10 surgeries one year.
So I took up watercolor and Sumi painting. I painted in bed. So 5 yrs ago I built a beautiful ocean view art studio here in Costa Rica. I paint almost every day.
I used to volunteer as a foster mom for orphan kittens. I'm planning on framing my art and donating the work to the foundation to support the animals.
  You do crafts, don't you? Can't recall, but if not take up a craft. Knitting caps for crack babies. Making collars for dogs in shelters. Anything that will increase your feelings of self worth. You are dearly loved here.
  I hope each day you see some improvement and friends you lost will be replaced by new people in your life. Blessings & love your way. Your friend Maxy.
