i was prescribed 10mg per night of ambien for the past 6 months and it has occured to me that i am indeed dependent on it for sleep...i have also built up a tolerance for it and am needing to take more and more to sleep which i hate because it makes it so hard to get up,  and once i do wake up i have horribble headaches....so i'm thinking something new like lunesta that claims its the only sleep aid without addiction ...or sonata i heard is good to get you asleep...anyone know anything?????????????????????????
p.s. i hate my f*ing roomats who can just lay down at whaever given bedtime and fall into a deep natural sleep and wake up smiling at the birds chirping in their windows....hate it because i wish i could have it...

Hi...I am taking a couple exedrin pms only now to help me sleep 8 hours a night.  Girl...did you really need them for 6 months?  I was hoping I could stop the pms this weekend after 12 days clean...

If anyone has an idea on how long insomnia can last, I would sure like to know.

Thankin Ya Much,

Nick

Hey, i know its tough not being able to sleep, its prob one of the hardest parts, but out bodys are not used to sleeping without drugs...Im taking Clonazepam right now and it works! Finally something works! I even sometimes at the beginning would take a seroquel and regular night aid all together. You could also drink a glass of wine to get relaxed. (no im not trying to support alcohal (alcohol)!)......

Insomnia lasts about a month to be honest, then you sleep normal...

I do NOT recommend taking Seroquel as it is highly addictive. I also will not get behind drinking a glass of wine..alcohol is a drug.

And no, one month to get your sleep pattern back is not accurate for everyone. For some it is a much longer process.

I just think the best way to get the proper sleep is a natural way. Exercise in the evening..take a hot bath before bed. Read in bed if that makes you sleepy, or watch tv with the lights out. Curl up with your favorite blanket. Learn to relax your body and mind. Find something that tires you naturally.

We have abused our bodies and our minds and it takes time for them to heal.

The behavior associated with "take this drug" so you can sleep, scares the bejesus out of me. We are trying to learn not to medicate as a solution for everything.
