Hi.  I take methadone too.A person can't just stop taking it without getting real sick,as you know by now.I live Canada and my clinic didn't ask to many questions other than what was my method of payment. If you go to one they will tell you the info you want to know.If you are comfortable with them, they may be able to get you on a taper program to get you off it.
Good luck.            karl

you sound like you have been getting it off the street or other places. Clinics don't like to take someone with methadone in their urine unless they are tranferring from one clinic to another. all the best

I'm in Ohio and was getting methadone off the street. I now go to a clinic, I told them I was addicted to it and ask for their help to get off and they told me to go to crisis care first to get a referral.  Also I have kids...they don't call CPA in fact they have a small area that works as a child care so I leave ur kids there if u bring them. Good luck, it's helping me.

from what I see you are in ohio???? I am really struggling with a heroin addiction.  I started out taking pain pills when my husband ran me over with my car.  Then I got hooked.  The pills started costing more than I could afford and my husband has been addicted to heroin for 8 years.  He had me try that and it took a lot less and was way cheaper.  I knew i would not be able to quit if he was in the home.  He is now in prison and I would like to take methadone.  I used it once before to come off the pills.  I used a step down program and I bought them off the street.  It really worked for me.  I want to use that now.  Please help me find methadone.

There is a clinic near the fair grounds. As you know methadone has a harder withdrawal then heroin and anything else. Just a suggestion but have you thought of trying buprenorphone (suboxone) unlike methadone suboxone dont appear to cause a delay in ur psycho-motor or cognitive performance. It is highly lipid bound and it provides a reservoir of medication that can control opioid withdrawal symptoms for extended amounts of time.  A awesome advantage of suboxone is that the withdrawal symptoms experienced when you discontinue are not as long or intense as seen in methadone withdrawal symptoms.
