On percocet while pregnant and Im scared!

I have a 2 year old and when I was pregnant with him, I wouldnt dare take a pain pill, be around cigarette smoke, or anything! And he is a perfectly healthy amazing little boy! Since then, I was hurt in an accident and I have alot of pain on a daily basis, so I was prescribed percocet (10 mg 6x a day). As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I began taking much less. Between 2-4 10mg a day is what I am taking now. I try very hard to not take them but with the pain I am in, plus I get pregnancy migraines a few times a week, and taking care of a two year old, Its impossible for me to stop. I am still prescribed 6 a day at this time, but only taking 2-4, so I know I am not abusing and I know I am trying but I feel guilty all the time. If this baby has any complications or anything, I am going to blame it on the pills and ultimately, myself. Anyone out there take these and have good results? Anyone have advice on how I can quit taking them?

Hello..i too am taking percocets while pregnant and i completely understand what you are going through as far as worrying about the baby.  I have spent hours upon hours researching negative effects to your unborn baby while using these and all i have found is that you must stop before. You give birth or your baby will be addicted. In your case its probably impossible to stop so as long as you have a perscription nothing will happen if they notice signs of withdrawl i had a friend in your same situation. Her baby came out addicted and since she had a prescription they just put the baby in the nic u gave him. Meds to ease the withdrawals and he was able to go home two days later and us in perfect health!

Hi~  Ordinarily we're brimming with advice !!!   But,you're pregnant so this belongs with your OB.  Don't try to do this on your own. It's not just about you anymore!!  Try not to worry. You're not on a large dose IMO but the Dr. needs to know about this and needs to taper you. Don't stop cold turkey;it's dangerous.
Call tomorrow,okay?

All the best~
