I definitely think exercise helps...particularly with what you are doing with your back. Even if the physical part was not enough, the mental side of physical exercise does wonders for our feeling of well being. And it bleeds over into other habits such as eating better. I find it harder to go eat a burger and fries after jogging 3 miles. Thanks to all other nice and encouraging comments...I appreciate it and keep everyone fighting this fight in my lthoughts to continue winning the daily battles to a clean and better life. It is truly a great thing to have some control over your day rather than having some pills dictate to you.
You should be bragging,Congratulations on 1 year.I also use the gym,it keeps you focussed.

Brian, a healthier lifestyle is also working for me.
1 yr. Way to go!!!! Thanks for coming back and sharing with us. It is always great to hear success stories. Isn't it amazing what happens when we start taking better care of ourselves! Keep it up and God Bless!
You are such an inspiration!!! Thank you soooo much for your post, it really helps someone like me in the early stages. Only 4 days clean, and now I know, that it's possible to be happy, healthy and strong one year from today. God bless you!!
Congrats on 1 yr!! That is great!! Keep it going~~~~sara
Congrats on one year!! So proud of you. I do have a question for you. How much do you think the exercise has been helping? The reason I ask is because I too have been exercising, eating healthier, and also doing things to help my back such as core strengthening exercises, stretching, physical therapy, etc. I can honestly say that in the past it was pain that always caused my relapses. The problem with my relapses is that I couldn't control my use. After a few days it was always one extra until that one extra turned into over 20 extra a day. But, even though it was the pain even when I wasn't in pain I still always thought about them. Since I am now controlling my pain by other means I don't crave at all anymore. But I think it's the healthier lifestyle I am living. Just wonder if you feel the same?
Once again, congrats on your clean time!! I think I'm right around 7 or 8 months so I'm not too far behind. Whatever you do, don't let me catch you!!
So happy for you new found freedom! Never stop fighting!
Brian
