Online Pharmacies

Hi, I'm somewhat of a new member to this specific board but not to the med help community.  I'd like to ask a question if I might.  I have a teenage son and the other day I read a message from one of his friends having to do with ordering xanax online.  Is that even possible?  I thought all these online pharmacies were a thing of the past and anyone attempting to order could get in trouble with the law.

Am I missing something here?  That stuff should not be accessible to these teenagers who don't understand the real dangers of addiction and think it's cool to experiement with them.  It would be easy for them to use their parent's credit card to order (assuming it's possible), if so wouldn't the parents be liable?  Just trying to get educated here.  I will confront him when I know more.

yes, unfortunately these pharmacies are all over the place.  Like Boiler rooms they come and go like crazy....the fed's  just can't keep up with them.  It's a real problem.

I wouldn't even attempt to use one.  the thought of doing so (were I still using) scares the bejeebers out of me..the risks are too great, IMO

Another thing is that anytime you order, read the small print on the bottom of your screen, they save your ip address for security purposes, not good.

I did it once and the package got intercepted and 3 weeks later got a letter from the DEA asking me if I want to pick up my package..........that was it for me.......Scary!!!

  I did it for years... The online Pharmacy.  At one point on a single script I got 120 hydro 10-325 and 120 xanax 2mgs with 2 refills.  When the refills run out you pay another consultation fee and do it all over.  Need no script only a phone consultation where a doctors assistant calls and asks a few minor questions and when I say minor I mean it!  Are you 18?  You are not mixing these right?  You are not getting them anywhere else? Your not getting them for anyone else?  How many do you take daily?  Just say four and do the math that's 120 of whatever.  They send you the first scrip with no records, but tell you in order to get your refills you must fax them within 30 days.  When the refills run out you pay another consultation fee and do it all over.  It truly is the path of least resistance, other than buying them off the streets.  Most people who abuse this end up using fake names and getting 2,3,4,5... or however many scripts they can.  Feds are trying to stop them, but new ones just keep popping up.

You can find one. Type into Google,type xanax prescriptions and see what pops up. Make sure your phishing filter is on of coarse and when your done run a cookie scan and delete all cookies. You will pick a web site that says a Doctor will review your request, please answer the following questions. they all have to do with anxiety related diagnosis. They ask other questions as well. I dont really know but there prices are extremely high so I am told. LIKE $120 for 30, 1mg xanax. and the doctor fee is also required by the time your done your paying $200.00 for 30 tablets that go for in a pharmacy something like $20.00, I saw this on 60 minutes about 4 months ago and once they get your credit card # they start shipping you refills for whatever but I'm sure its not cheap. I think a lot of kids are doing it because they assume that they wont put a 15 or 16 year old in jail. DAD there is a question they ask for a date of birth they just make one up making them appear as though they are 21. Why dont you check his favorites on his computer if none look suspicious, then check the history next to the favorites. But anyone who would actually try this as a real adult must be desperate person. Keeping in mind a addict will do what ever they have to do to get their drug of choice. We all know addicts dont think about the consequences of their actions. DAD there should be a way to set the content advisor denying access to these kind of sites, Just like you can lock out porn through the content advisor. Dad if he gets his hands on xanax at this age the dreams you may have for him may never be fulfilled. They can even get vicodin believe it or not.

Aren't some of them legit though?  Like the one that eliminnopee was talking about, if you're speaking with a so called real dr, and they prescribe them to you, then what's the real difference of an office visit, if I could technically call my dr right now, and ask if he could throw me a script for ____? You know what I'm saying?

It illegal also a federal offense, believe me if that wasn't the case (at one point) instead of spending 3,850$ on 1000 10mg yellow vics a week...I woulda been ordering them offline..Not something to mess with.

I dont know i bought some online my was ultram however I had one of those doctor consults .it look like a normal script call me dumb from a doctor from a phamarcy this phamarcy did not sell any controled subs. wow i feel like an idiot.

     Yes they do require records and id, but that is to receive your refills only, they WILL ship the first script WITHOUT records (depending on the site).  Whether that is 100% legal I dunno.  If your kid is truly using the web to solicite drugs he can get an order put in and receive these meds as long as there is someone at the front door to sign for them when they arrive by fed-ex or UPS records or not, id or not.  They are playing with fire and if you don't put a serious stop to it you are allowing him the opportunity to open a Pandora's Box that could and probably will haunt him until the day he dies.  As far as the credit card goes, all he has to do is go to the mall and get a visa gift card with the amount needed on it that can be used anywhere.

Wow Nauty that is so scary.  What did the DEA do to you after they intercepted the package?

And the thing is that if his friend is attempting to do this, not only can he get ripped off by a site that's not legit OR get lucky and actually get the meds, a lose lose situation.

BTW I'm a mom, not a dad; single mom of 3 actually.  :)  that's I'm always trying to keep myself up to date on these things.  Back in my days, this was non existent.  Heck, I didn't even own a computer! LOL

This is why it's required to get a written script from the doctor to give to the pharmacy for class 4 drugs. At least, in NY. Can't speak for elsewhere. Heck, my doctor tried to call in a prescription for a refill on my allergy med, and they wouldn't do it by phone.
