I definitely agree with the others...it would probably be in your best interest to talk with your doc about meds to help get you off/manage the withdrawal. What you said "i didn't know a way out of this misery"...that truly hits close to home. After awhile i was so over taking pills, but i was horrified of withdrawal, coping with everyday life, etc. So i basically would binge a bit, and if i was low, i would take just enough to keep the WD away. Trust me, you are NOT alone. Everyone here is so wonderful, and you'll find so much support and encouragement. We are here for you. You are NOT alone. Keep posting and keep us updated. To be honest, if i hadn't found this group, im not sure if i would have been able to quit...there's just so much support here, and everyone understands.
So sorry to hear everything going on. You will be in my thoughts.
Stay strong,
Angie
Thats a good idea Mary....the doctor could prescribe a med to replace the Opana and then taper that one...it's time to get in contact with him. We all agree on that...
I agreenwith everyone else that you should talk to your doctor. He might give you something like Clonidine, which is an older blood pressure medication that helps with withdrawal symptoms. Your doctor may have you cut back on one of your dosages of Opana and may presvribe you you a different med or additional med while you're tapering. If you're feeling achey, ibuprofen, if you can take it, might help a bit. Also soaking in a hot tub (especially with Epsom salts) will help.
Sorry about your daughter's illness. If you aren't able to visit her, what about Skyping on the computer?
I hate to tell you this but I was also addicted to the same two drugs at the end of my addiction and I def agree u need to talk to your doctor about this because opana is for lack of better words A MONSTER in the world of opiates they don't get much stronger. Suboxone would not even knock the edge off withdrawal from opana when I stopped so tell ur doctor you need help and go from there because even with the suboxone it was a nightmare for me I couldn't imagine going cold turkey because opana withdrawal makes oxy withdrawal seem like a walk in the park
Good Luck and Godspeed

No. You should never cut the Opana. Have you thought about dropping the Opana? You still have the other and you could keep taking it to cover wd's and then begin tapering it some time down the road. I really think it would be fine to call your doctor and run this by him...I know he's new to you but he's your doctor and this is a legitimate question.
The other thing is your pain. How will you cover pain if you're not on something?
If you can't get to the store,,do you have bananas, apple juice, OJ? That might help the RLS. Also,, a multi vitamin has minerals you could use.
It's sad about your daughter...can you visit?
Hi you are going through so much right now and while it is good to have support on here I really wish that you would talk to your doctor. He can give you a solid taper schedule and prescribe you some meds that will make this a whole lot easier. We really cannot advise on what to do about the opana.
Hang in there
