Opiate dependent

I have been on lorcets oc's and Percocet for over 30 years . I have to stop. They have almost killed me. I have taken a minimum of ten a day for last 7 years.  When I don't the withdraws are unbearable.  I have heard that there is a combo cocktail of bus par and wellbrution and something else that can help. Has anyone heard of this ? I have tried weaning off no willpower bc of withdraws or anything to replace these drugs or help.  They have new laws in ky where I live bc of all the overdoses.  I need serious help.  Please.

Hi and welcome!  SO glad you found this forum!  30 years is a long time but it is certainly possible to do it!  All of us have had to go through detox and understand how scary can be and how much it S***S!!!!  Like others said above you need to cut your contacts!!!  If the pills are around you will 99% cave and take them!!!  What did you start taking them for?  I started because of my back and neck pain from degenerative discs and arthritis.  I found that now that I am off of the pills my pain is so much less that it is manageable with tylenol and aleve!!!  Keep on posting and let us know how you are getting on!!!  We are here to help and encourage you!!!!

Pain increases from long term opiate use:
hyperalgesia - opiate induced pain.

There is freedom from the chains and bondage of addiction.

You won't die from withdrawal, but there's a good chance you will if you continue using.

Tapering will make the withdrawal less severe. Do you have someone who can help you?  Hold the pills for you?

There is always hope.
Keep the faith.

Hi desperate and welcome to the forum.  You will find lots of great advice and support here.  I feel for you, I really do. Most of us here have been in a similar situation, and we can help.

You have been on these pills for a long time.  If you are getting them from a doctor, I would start there.  Time to sit down with your doctor and explain what's been happenning. Ask for help getting off the pills.  There are medications that can be prescribed to help.  Perhaps your doctor can help you taper off.  Withdrawals last about a week for the strongest symptoms, some will last a bit longer.  We can help you with things you can do to relieve the symptoms, and offer you great emotional support.

Life is so much better without all the stress and physical ailments that go along with the pills.  Take care and please keep posting. We are here to help! I wish you all the best.

I am ready !  I have to look up the Thomas recipe .been on 280 for pain and 120 for break through and extra from friends. So many years built up such tolerance.  I can't tell anything when I take them   I have never felt a high that I know of. But if I don't have my Bo go stroke level high. Extream lay high er dr didn't belive it could be that high even. They gave me Xanax and Bo mess and sent me home. I just don't want to die from w/d and I don't even know if you can.  And that's not counting heart rate restless legs noooo sleep and whose pain than before.  I really need help bad. It has destroyed my life.  Ty for your help.

Hi, Desperate. Yay for you for making this decision. 30 years is a long time to be a slave to these things! Firstly, do you get them from a dr or the street or both? Because, everyone caves during withdrawl if THEY HAVE ACCESS to pills. That's why we gotta cut all contacts. Yes, wds are hell. But they won't kill us. The only thing that can aid in some relief of the symptoms is the Thomas Recipe on here. But, for every one of us addicts, we had/have to go thru it.

This is very doable, and ya just gotta be beyond sick and tired of being sick and tired. And willing to go thru a few days/weeks of discomfort to be free.

Do you wanna start now? If so, great, and you must have zero access to pills. Less us know:) And stay very close to this forum!
