Opiate detox

For the past 2 years I've been pain management. I am prescribed 30mg morphine sulfate 2x a day and 10 mg Oxycodone 4x s day which I abuse by crushing and snorting them. I was on day 3 of detoxing cold turkey praying that last night would be better with the restless leg syndrome and sleep because I think I have only slept 3 hours since I syarted. Well my question is I took 1/2 of my Oxycodone last night roughly only 2 mg. and 1/2 of morphine 15 mg.
I feel sooo guilty... Will this take me back to square 1????

You really can't do anything wrong here. Just remember, if you want help, just push. "Post a Question" If you want it. You can do it!

Think of it is a taper, you just slowed down the detox, so it is not as severe. It may add a little time, but will make it more tolerable. Just don't take anymore and forget the guilt. Remember, progress over perfection. As addicts, we want everything done, and now. You have less opiates in your body than you did at the start, so keep moving forward.

Amino Acid shakes
Omega fatty acids
Epsom Salt baths
Cal/mag/zinc
Light exercise

Those are some things that helped me get through. You might want to check out an NA meeting, counseling, or church, whatever inspires you to be the best you there is. You will need some support to get through the mental and emotional part, or most of us do. Keep on moving forward.

Hey and welcome. To me it seems kind of strange that you are detoxing cold turkey while you have oxycodone on board. You need to make up your mind. Do you want to taper? If so you will need someone to take care of the pills for you. Either way you should give the meds up. It's nearly impossible to clean up with pills in your pocket. #1, IMO, you should contact your doctor if you can. Any doctor including the ER. Sobriety is tough enough for we addicts, doing it alone only makes it that much harder. Another thing, don't beat yourself up, your doing the right thing. There's no starting over again. You're continuing your journey. This started when you decided to get clean and sober. I say congratulations to you. Keep posting and make a plan. One that includes any help you can find. Good Luck....ike
