Opiods for Tapering off Subutex

As they say, it is like playing with fire. I am on subutex for pain control, did not work much, but I am pain free now. I am suffering to get off subutex. I have an 18month old and fear for withdrawal. What type of opiods do they use and how do they use it to ease the symptoms.

Gosh honestly from what i hear a slower long taper is the best way to get off of sub. How long were you on the sub?opiates aren't really going to help you tape off of sub .sub keeps the opiate receptors full so other opiates cant keep in there.You might want to PM whataboutmary she is one of our members she has been doing a long taper to get off of sub and it has been working well for her .good luck

Do yo have, or can you get more sub to do a long slow taper ?  Taking other opiates to detox off the sub is not a good idea. What mg. of sub are you on now, and how long ?

It does sound wierd, but some people do have to get back on an opiate for a short and then get off the sub. The sub isnt a magic bullet by any means. And some have huge problems with getting off it.

I guess the answer is when it comes to sub short term, slow taper and as low a dose as possible.

I'm on sub now for 3months and tapering now on 1mg want to be off the end of this month so we will see how that goes, so far I have to say is been good.

I did a short term, and I mean short term (less than 17 days) detox with Sub.
DON'T EVER EVER EVER jump off at 16 mg or anything higher than 2 really.  Ideally you want to go lower than 1, like .25 mg.
How ong have you been on Sub?  I can give you a taper schedule that will minimalize the w/d's.  
PS, I did it last July with a 10 month old and I was able to function.

I am on 4mg at the moment. Has been on it for 10months(on and off).
