Oxy/Roxy withdrawl ... low dosage

A source on an information website claimed that medical records have shown that anyone taking below 60mg of oxy per day for more than 6 months should experience no considerable w/d symptoms if trying to stop completely. W/d symptoms may be mild but nothing compared to heavy abuse...like maybe 100-200mg per day. I read of one poster even taking 900mg per day which is surprising.

I doubt this source is credible, but my question remains..
If a person is taking 10-15 mgs of oxy per day for more than 6 months time. How sever do you think w/d symptoms will be with no tapering.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I concur as well.  My w/d's lasted for about 2 weeks, but the psychological is much worse, but I'm determined and that has helped allot!  I believe the biggest hurdle is you probably think you'll never be happy again.  First of all you need to identify that what you felt isn't real euphoria...it's artificial chemical based euphoria.  Opiates were never designed to be used for more than a year at most and I abused them for 14 years.

You'll start to get glimpses of joy and those glimpses will grow longer and with frequency over time.  I'm only 3 weeks out and I've had quite a few, but I'm not through it yet, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's very bright.  You just have to believe that you'll reach that light....and you can....we all can.  Just look at the people who have been sober for a year, 5 years, 10 years or more.

I doubt if anyone thought they'd get hooked when they started, but now that we have and those of us that have been sober for a while (not me yet)...I think it makes us stronger, better people....that is better people than we used to be....not better than anyone else.

I agree on both accounts.....  As you stated you started taking them more days in a row and found a lil trouble.. Thats how it starts.. Then next thing you know the same dosage does not give you your buzz... up the anti another cog turns on the wheel of addiction.. I wish you well on your journey....

Thanks for all the information, opinions, etc...
During my usage, especially early on I would go 4 days on and then take 3 days.  Or maybe 5 days on and then take 2 days off.  Most times I felt little to no w/d symptoms still maintained appetite and was always able to move bowels even while on Oxy.  I believe because I kept the dosages so low I was able to kind of cheat the drug, but inevitably over the past month I was on for alot more days than off.  And when I went off after 2 weeks staright I did feel antsy, but more psychologically distressing than physical.  When I see some of the dosages that some posters are taking I am amazed at how much there bodies can sustain.
I am not pain, no injury, just recreational use...If taken at very low dosages do you agree that w/d symptoms can never be as extreme as taking 100,200, or even 300mg per day?
I reaize that I am playing with fire, and inevitably most people that do that get burned.

alot of this is upstairs..psychological...and if you are addicted to a small dose and someone is addicted to a larger dose, psycholically it could be very similar..physically you should be better off...i felt physcally bad for 3-4 days coming off of 80-100 mgs of hydr after 3-4 years...psychologically for a few months tho till i got my energy back and the mood swings calmed down....only way to know how u will feel is to go there and find out...prepare..flush any left overs and cut off any refills..good luck as u seem as tho u r mentally preparing to do this

I have begun to think that dosage can be decieving I only took about 50mg of hydro on the avarage occasionally i took 70-80 but rarely..... But i have had a heck of a time with withdrawals at least compared to others..... maybe the dependance is stronger the longer you take it. I took for well over 2 years...maybe even 3 i don't really remember when i started.....

I have been told it's just different for everyone....and it must be, I am 26 days clean and still have lingering issues....I had hoped they would pass by now but they have not yet....I don't have any desire to take anything....but i can tell you this i would not want it available to me in fact i never want it available...ever again!

I've never taken Oxy's before but I know they're stronger than Vics.  I would think even that little amount would make you very uncomfortable.  Even so, like I said in my earlier post, if you get some Clonidine from your doctor, it will likely help.....allot!

I can't tell you that it will work for sure as some meds work for some and not for others, but I can say that most meds usually don't work for me, but opiates do and so does Clonidine.  You should now before it gets any worse!  If you don't, you'll end up taking more and more and more.  I went from taking 15 Vics to 20 to 30 to 60 and 60 wasn't doing anything for me whatsoever.  Just going off 15 a day sucked....allot!

M_DuBb22, I was taking an average of 75mg of Vicodin for 14 years.  A few months ago, for a month, I took 300mg.....that's 60 pills a day.  Anyway, I just passed my 3rd week off the Vics and I went off cold turkey.  I had some help though.....I had some Clonidine....it helps allot with the w/d's, in fact I'd say it probably helped cut the w/d symptoms in half.  In the longrun going ct is better and easier.  In the short term, it's harder, but if you have Clonidine, it's not that bad.

I'd say I had w/d's for about 10 to 14 days with the worst of them lasting for 4 or 5 days.  The only w/d symptom I still have is the sneezing.  It's more annoying than anything, but it's slowing.....I expect to have it for another week or two and then I should be completely done with the physical w/d symptoms.

The psychological symptoms....well that depends on the person.  I believe if you really want to stop, the psycho symptoms will stop much faster than a person who really doesn't want to.  If you really want it, you'll do it.  Remember, anything worth doing is difficult, but this is far from impossible to do.

There are times that I still want the Vics, but I burned my bridges.....something you must do to.  There's a finality to it when you do this...it will help you get over it.  You will be happy again and actually overall, you'll be much happier.  It's something you can't see now because the Vicodin clouds your mind, even though you might think it relaxes you and makes it sharper.  The Vicodin does help with anxiety and it does relax you, but at a price....a price that's much too high.

I've been taking 40-70mg of hydrocodone daily (in 10-15mg doses)  daily for about 5 months. I was substituting 15-25mg of this with oxycodone but today was my first day off that and I felt like ****, panic attacks and shaky no appetite even with hydrocodone. I'm off the oxy easy but i know the hydro will be harder to wean off in a couple weeks. Also looking for help on this topic, please see my new post.

It would be severe enough to make you not want to detox from a higher amount...
