Oxy Withdrawal

Oxy Withdrawal

I am stopping Oxycodone cold turkey because I start college in the fall, and I have no desire to continue the medication. My daily usage varies from day to day, but at max, I take 10-7.5mg pills of Oxycodone a day. I have gone 2 or 3 days before without taking it. I'm very afraid of withdrawal pains, and cravings. Is there anything I can do to ease the cravings and pains? There's no other way I can do but stop it cold turkey. PLEASE HELP ASAP! I'm very afraid, I'm very scared, and I need support. I stop it cold turkey now.

Have no fear: if you search this site, you'll find a huge database of information on oxy w/d's.

Getting medical help, or ideally getting into a medical detox would be ideal, but if you're young and this is your first detox, you can handle the w/d's from 75mg with quite a bit of discomfort at first (usually by Day 4 or Five, you're out of the woods), but should be fully operational in about 10-14 days, although the fatigue may linger ...

Again, if you can get medical assistance, it's your best bet. Otherwise, barring chronic health problems, you can do it alone. Just punch it into the "search" bar top right, and you'll have as much information as you can handle.

Best of luck.

Thanks so much! I already feel the support. I've been on them for a year, but again, I've never gone over 10 pills in one day.

I've suggested this to so many people and I don't know if any of them have seriously considered it, but I swear to god it will help a lot - Acupuncture.  It's not expensive , it's not addictive, it helps with all aspects of w/d from stomach cramps, restless legs, headaches, cravings - what do you have to lose?  Go try it and help my get these guys to try something besides another drug!!  I'm kidding a little bit on that part, everyone.  Calm down  :o)
