Oxycodone At Night Only

Oxycodone At Night Only

I take between half and 1 whole Oxycodone before bed time, and have been doing so for around 6 months. (I don't usually take a whole pill at once because it makes me itch). I have skipped days in-between, however. I have chronic pain, mostly leg pain (sciatica) and nerve pain all over. I am somewhat concerned about getting addicted, although I will never take it when I know I'll be working or driving. Right now I am sitting at work & experiencing such severe nerve pain, that I cannot wait until night time. My question is: Can I continue this habit as is without doing irreparable harm to my body? I have tried non-narcotics, but they never really helped and affected my asthma and/or spastic colon. The great thing about this drug for me is that it does not make me groggy the next day.
Thanks!

Hello and Welcome!

It really does not sound like you have a problem right now, although it could become one.

The difference is that I am an addict and 1 pill never did it for me. If the bottle said take 1 every four hours, that meant take 4 every hour. It does not seem like you are doing that.

I commend you for wanting to know and for having the insight to ask someone.

A suggestion: Stop for a few days and see if you crave them, and I don't mean for the pain. See if you mentally crave them.

Good Luck.

The itching doesnt mean that it is an allergic reation.. When I first started taking pills that was a side affect it gave me along with the high. My nose would itch so bad it would be chafed up and dry bad!

Also if I go along time without pills then go back on them it is a side affect for the first few days, then it passes.  Not to say that it couldnt be an allegic reaction, but it doesnt seem to me that it is. Good luck on controlling them partner.!

Itching is very common. When i itched, I knew I had taken a lot.
Addiction is somewhat measured in behavioral patterns. Taking too much. Taking because you 'feel' better on it. I can't say I see that in your behavior, but you have to look at the why.
Look for a chiropractor that is trained in the B.E.S.T. technique. It is a method that releases the attached muscles so that you come into alignment. It might really help that sciatica problem. It has helped both my wife & I.
