Oxycodone and Pregnancy

Hi EVERYONE!!! I'm about 6 weeks pregnant and am precribed oxycodone. I have been on it for about 2 yrs now for arthritis in my back and knees. I take 15mg 4 times a day. I wanted to know if at this level, is this going to cause any brith defects or harm to my fetus??? If so, can you please give me some insight as to how badly the effects are??? Thank you for your time!!!

I agree with the above post, talk to your doctor. I just watched a show the other night about a woman who took methadone the whole time she was pregnant. when the baby was born of course she was addicted. she stayed an additional 5 weeks in NCIU going through withdraws. she was on morphine to help wean her from the methadone./ please talk to your doctor about detoxing. good luck and please keep us posted.

PLZ tell your OBGYN right away they will help you make a slow taper plan to get off the meds .Yes there can be harm done . The sooner you work something out with your doctor the better.
