Oxycontin or Percocet ex-users

This is my first week here and getting tremendous amount of support, reason why I've chosen to finally come off the Oxy on June 13th.. Question: I'm curious about the withdrawal from Oxy compared to all the other Opiates, are they similar to Tramadol, Vic/hydro, etc. withdrawals. Reason why I'm asking, I hear a lot of interesting withdrawal stories from this group of drugs here on MedHelp but not from Oxy.. I'm guessing it's all the same, opiate withdrawal is opiate withdrawal, correct? I'm at 100-120mg Oxy a day for the last 5 years...

wanna know what oxy withdrawls are like huh? lets see if i can help ya out. i started doin perks a year or so ago, then about six mouths ago got hooked up with some blues (30 mg roxys) then about 4 mouths ago got into 80's. i tried a couple times to go without only would last a day though.the sweats started at about 12hrs, stomach craps at 15-16 hrs. the runs at about 20 hrs.back to the 80's by 24hrs.
but, 29 days ago i walked into my suboxone appt. (high ofcoarse) and got  hooked up again, this time with suboxone. so i ended my oxy run with a bang i did 8) 80's that friday. and on saturday as soon as the sweats came i hit a suboxone. thats it statrted the subs at 2in the am, and 2 in the pm.(8mg each) currantly im doin 1 in am and 1 in pm. sorry i cant help with more details on the withdrawls, but i havent had any so far on the subs.
i read about many people doin it c/t very successfully, for me it wasnt an option, i was a feind. oh btw, most of the successful c/t stories were people doin the same mg as yourself. good luck. you can do it. get busy living by the 13th atleast. Teddy

Thanks Kim, I tried to taper on my own but ended up doing more. I started having major withdrawal pains and anxiety and I had to take more to help reduce the symptoms, so I'm trying to taper back to where I was. My only way is C/T, but I have my brother that will hold on to some pills in the event I chose to taper but dramatically over a few days until I am clean. I'm motivated and I hope I succeed.

I never did oxys and never really liked percs, but I did have a nasty vicodin addiction.I was taking 20 7.5mgs a day, more if I had them.I know anytime I would detox from them the worst of the physical part would be over in 5-7 days,it felt like a really bad flu accompanied by high anxiety and trouble sleeping. The anxiety, trouble sleeping and lack of energy tends to last a while, but as time goes by these symptoms will lessen also.On the bottom right hand side of the page you will find thomas' recipe, many have used this to help with the w/ds along with the amino acid protocol. You said you are wanting to stop on June 13,you could actually start to taper and this would help to minimize the w/ds.Avisg is wonderful with helping people figure out a taper plan,of course you have to have the willpower to stick to it or have someone that you could give the pills too that would only give you your scheduled dose and would not give in to giving you anymore then that no matter what. You will find alot of answers and support here so post often.Weekends are slow especially because of the holiday, but there will be many more who will offer their suggestions and encouragemaent to you.I wish you all the luck and know that YOU CAN DO THIS. Peace.
