Oxycontin

I have a family member who is addicted to Oxycontin.  He has no insurance...can he safely detox himself?  If so, what sort of step-down protocol is suggested?

This family member has an opiate addiction , which is a chronic treatable disease of the brain.
Have you any idea how much Oxycontin he is using on a daily basis. Where or how is he able to
obtain this medication? If his buying the meds off the street how is he able to support his habit?
Not knowing what state he is from it is hard to advise you which options are open to him in the
way of Public Assistance. How old is he? There is a drug called suboxone that would allow him
to taper down off the opiates very comfortably in the comfort of his home, You can go to the
following website and go to the physician finder based on zip codes to get you in touch with a
certified suboxone m.d., Unfortunately the suboxone can only be prescribed by a certified m.d.
go to www.suboxone.com. for more information.-------------------GOOD LUCK-----------NOAH
