living with an addict is not gonna work..but this u already know..it is virtually impossible to stop smoking when u live with someone who smokes..much less drugs....it is gonna be when u r ready to do all required//aftercare//a plan that includes..surrounding urself with those who r clean///cutting off supply and old friends who will only hurt ur efforts to be clean..there r ways to get off with maintenence drugs while u do the work if u feel tapering or ct is out of reach at this time...go to the health pages..read and learn..and keep posting as there is tons of support here....keep posting..and never ever give up..this is ur life..dont waste it

I am nineteen years old too and I understand where you are coming from, I would do oxycontin every morning to get out of bed. I "stopped" several times before really wanting it bad enough to actually stop. Those times I would stop would only last a few days. Now, I decided to finally stop and i only have 9 days but I already feel so much better. You can do this too. I used a little suboxone, just to get through the first 4 days, (however, many might disagree with this and u run the cost of getting hooked to it so you would have to decide what is best for you) and since then I have been taking b-12 vitamins for energy and a vitamin that helps with the deperession that follows. I am so happy I stopped, but for the first few days I questioned why the hell I would ever want to stop!!. Now I feel so much better about myself thinking i can get up and do things without having to use a drug to be capable. I really hope you can find the strength to do this too. Maybe try to get your friend to stop also? Or move out again? Whatever you need to do, do it, and don't make excuses because thats what I did. I had a reason for everything and all that did was prolong me from stopping. Of course it will be hard, but in the end you will be a stronger person and can actually wake up in the morning happy with yourself! Good luck, send me a msg if u'd ever like to talk more.
