PERCOCET ADDICTION

I have a question regarding Percocet and addiction. I have been taking Percocet/Tylenol 10MG/650MG pills for about ten months for various pain problems. I have back pain, migraines, joint pains. Nothing over the counter helps and I tried Ultram and it did nothing. I take, on average, 2 pills a day but some days only one or none. I do admit I take them sometimes just to feel relaxed and not always for pain. I am in quite a bit of pain but not always. I have stopped percocet for days at a time with really no withdrawal problems. However, If I do not take it for three or more days my pain is real bad and I also experience mood swings and anxiety problems. How do I know if I am addicted or if I need this medicine. I am confused and concerned.

If you take pain meds for any other reason than for pain.  You are at a very high risk for addiction.......it will sneak up on you slowly and then  va voom.......your hooked....be very, very careful.

Its good that you are concerned.. IT sounds to me that you are not addicted to it.. but you are skating thin ice when you start taking it for reasons other than pain. like to relax.. that you don't want to do.. its good you don't take it daily if you don't need it.. and that you are not yet at the stage where you have withdrawals when you stop. sounds like you are probably dependent on them.. not addicted.. there is a difference..
Only you can for sure say whether or not you are an addict. To me.. I think you are ok for now.. But i would be very very careful.. it takes very little to cross that line..
