Panic Attacks

Anyone else dealing with panic attacks in withdrawal?  I'm at 72 hours since I stopped taking hydrocodone.  I was taking 6 pills a day, 5/500.  I tapered down to 4.5 a day, then 3 a day, then I ran out and just quit.

The physical withdrawal really isn't that bad, I can cope with that.  The demons in my head are a whole other matter, though.  Everything that happens knocks me absolutely flat, and I just curl up in a ball and cry.

My dr gave me a script for Cymbalta and I have faith that it will help once it has time (I'm only on day 3 of that), and he also gave me Xanax which helps a little, but the demons are still there, nibbling away.

i have had pretty bad anxiety with panic since i stopped my methadone in may, and it seems the longer i am clean, the worse it gets...i am hoping i will eventually reach some type of peak and then it will start to gradually go away...but my therapist thinks it is something i have always had and that is why i used alcohol and drugs to self medicate in a way, i also have agoraphobia which is completley new for me i used to be the one that couldnt STAND to be home all the time, it is  now the opposite, but then again, self medicating?  always was wasted in one form or another before i went anywhere...   are you in any type of therapy? it really does feel good to talk to someone that isnt going to look at you like your a freak of nature or judge you.  cymbalta i hear works well but i think , not sure, but i think it can take up to30 days for you to benefit its full effect. and take it easy with the xanax, it does help...but it is addictive so be careful with it...take care
