Partner addicted to heroin

my boyfriend has been dabbling with heroin the last 6months or so,only had a bag every few months then it got to once a week,then every other day,now its every day. Does he have to go to the doctors first and then be refured. i dont know what to do.

I don't have any personal experience with heroin.There are some members here that do though.Weekends are just a little slow,so hang in there someone will come along who will be able to let you know what to expect.Does your b/f want to quit?

Addiction is progressive,incurable and deadly!!. I suggest for you to find a nar anon meeting it is for people who are with addicts ,or al anon what ever you can find. We are very sick people and we tend to eat up and spit out our loved ones ,until we suck them dry.please try one of these meetings to help your self,him well people there will guide you about him. For me I had to go to Narcotics Anonymous and today i have 9 months clean. All the best j

a referral for what, are you looking for inpatient treatment?
will he goto na? i have found that herion addicts like me and your boyfriend do well in na, if he is not willing to goto na, he is not ready to get clean

Hello Uksharon and welcome to the forum.. I'm an ex heroin user.. if you are looking on how to help him get off heroin.. we can give you advice.. they have detox facility's that you can contact directly.. and some get off it at home on their own.. I'm willing to help you in anyway I can.. the hardest part about Heroin and being the partner of one who uses is he has to want to come off himself.. all the wishing in the world will not change this.. The forum also offers support for the partners of addicts.. I sure hope you stick around as you could get some good advice and maybe a direction ?
