Paxil

by virgo1969, Aug 07, 2008 07:15PM
My dr. prescribed me to take one 10mg of Paxil a day. I've done some research on the net and it sounds scary and dangerous.

Anyone have any opinions?

Thanks!

I really can't say much about the scary/dangerous part. What do you mean by that? The issue I had with it like many others I have tried is I just walked by food and gained weight. We are all different...so it helped my depression issues until I gained a bunch of weight....that's kind of a bummer! LOL... Again we are all different....and I'm curious to know what was scary about it. I didn't have any other issues with it.

Take Care!

I have been on paxil several yrs. now and as far as side effects all I had was dry mouth and sexual probs.. since I am not with anyone at the time it doesnt matter at the moment LOL...As far as weight gain I gained but it was due to other meds than the paxil at this time because when I took it several yrs b4 my kids I didnt gain any weight..For me the paxil has been a lifesaver and its been on the market several yrs now..So, it can be trusted alot more than these new meds that are comming out..It takes several days to start feeling the effects of the medication..You should be able to tell pretty quick if you are going to react good or bad to it...Hope all works out well for you Bri :o)
