People from Florida, please read

Re:  Hyde Park Counseling  (Tampa, Florida)

Hey you Florida people, I just discovered my hubby's aunt (who is down here visiting) owns and operates a rehab facility in Tampa, Florida called something like Hyde Park Counseling.  I looked it up on the internet last night.  They specialize in eating disorders and substance abuse.  I am thinking about talking to her while she is here and confiding in her about my drug addiction.  I knew she was some sort of a therapist but thought she only dealt with alcohol.  I have been considering discussing this with her for the last several years but especially while my husband was alive did not want to embarrass him.  I think I will go for it now, especially since I got caught last month getting my meds from two different docs, I mean I am going to have to do something anyway, maybe she can help.  I am hoping she will offer to buy me a plane ticket to Florida and take me to her facility.  She is a very generous person, gave me and my hubby a minimum of $500.00 every time she saw us when he was sick.  I assume she probably will not look down on me for this since she deals with people having similar issues doing it for a living even, so she would have to have compassion for people with this disease.  So everyone wish me luck.  She is on a quick trip to Mexico at this moment but supposed to be back here in a few days.  Just wandered if any of ya'll from Florida had heard of her place?

Thanks.

Love, Cindy

That is so cool that you actually work in the very area.  I thought that you were from Tampa.  His aunt's name is Fern Hill, she and her husband run the place.  It sounds like focus mainly on eating disorders.  Oh, I forgot to tell you that it is for women only.  I really like that.  Their facilities consist of two huge victorian style homes that have been renovated.  They seem to really be doing well financially, but guess that is probably a big money business.  I am definitely going to ask her about the Suboxone.  I have contacted a few other inpatient facilities over the years and of course they are all eager for my business, but it will be nice to speak to someone who I know truly wants the best for me and will give me her honest opinion.  I should have done this so long ago.  I am really getting worried about the Sub not working as well for me since I am on Methadone.  If I do get to Tampa, I will for sure look you up. My kids drove there last year to her home for a family reunion, I could not get off work.  At least if I do end up going to her place for treatment, I can at least have something to look forward to in finally meeting you in person.

Thanks so much.  Love, Cindy

Hey I live there.. and I saw that name I think when I was researching Sub treatment... I may have to look her up myself.. I work in Hyde Park... Its the snooty posh Yuppie area... hence why I make the money I do. People with money burning holes in their pockets..

Good luck let me know how it goes.. if you get to Tampa.. lets have a coffee or dinner... my treat..
