ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
Percocet ... time for the beginning.

Percocet ... time for the beginning.

I am trying to quit my percocet addiction. Four days ago I realized not only the mental anguish but the financial strain it has had on my newly messed up life. My partner has been affected by my mood swings and constant down from trying to reach that same high. I begun taking them from what I thought was a friend. I have chronic back pain , and she gave me a few to start and naturally I became addicted, to only find out that selling them was a form of living for this person. Regardless I am on my fourth day free of percocet and have gone through the very painful physical withdrawels, but to my surprise are no comparison to the emotional pain that is following! I need help/support ... does anyone have any advice??

In the US, call the nearest branch of City or County Family Services and ask for referral to an addiction treatment center.  Outside the US, find the nearest mental health clinic.  You might possibly need to be admitted to a 30-day residence detox program, but a professional should make that determination.
