Percocet Addiction---HELP

Good Afternoon,

I think I am addicted to percocet and it is scaring me.  I have been taking lik 6-8 in a day. I want to stop.  I think something is wrong with my liver now, even though a few weeks ago my test showed everything was good.

Please HELP!   I am scared.

I have been popping pain meds for about 2 years now.  Started on Vicodin to percocet to dilaudid to morphine back to percocet. I have something called intercranial hypertension and I also havecthecgastric bypass last year so I think I went to it for comfort.

I have another question though what can happen to my liver.  Also I just had blood work done and everything was OK so how to I know if I'm damaging it or not

Hi! Yes, percocets are fun! I was on them awhile back. But, my drug is Norco. She was my best friend/comfort blanket. I've been on pain pills for 8 years. I'm only 27... I use to pop 6-10 a day... It was like a schedule. So, I finally admitted that I'm an addict and researched the crap out of my addiction. It's an illness. Tapering is ver hard. I tried but did not succeed. I'm over 24 hrs clean. I'm doing the good ol' cold turkey. How long have u been using? If I can quit, you can quit. Trust me!

Hi. Is it possible for you and your doctor to come up with a taper plan? So many can't taper. That's the easier way, but takes longer. If you decide to stop cold turkey, it can be done. It's not fun. Not gonna lie. Read the Thomas recipe on the health pages. It really does help. Also cutting your sources is huge. Others will chime in soon.
