Percocet/Soma/Xanex Withdrawls

This is my first time writing.  I was attacked by a dog in Nov. 07 and have been on 5/325 percocets since then.  I take 4-5 a day.  In January my pain management dr put me on Xanex 3x a day, Soma 3x a day and Effexor 1x a day.  I have terrible shaking/tremors in my fingers, hands, foot and tounge.  I went to see a Neurologist and he said my tremors are due to meds.  Says I am on way to many and that my pain mgmt Dr will have to wean me off of these slowly, as they all have w/d side effects.   Anyway, now I am trying to get off of them.  PM Dr. told me to cut them in half and do that for 3-4 days and then quit!!  Do this with the Percs and Somas.  Then do the same with my Xanex, starting in a couple of weeks.  I tried doing this with the percs and was feeling really ****** by the 3rd day.  Have not even tried to get off Soma's yet.  Anyone had to get off this type of combination?  I really need to know what to expect.  Doesn't seem like cold turkey is the answer to any of them.  Dr says that xanex will be the hardest to get off of.  I hate taking all of these pills, but hate when my fingers shake so much I can't even hold my cell phone and it is really hard to type, seems to use the backspace a lot these days!

Any help gettting off all of these drugs and the best way to do them would be great!  I just want to stay in bed all day and do nothing!  I have no  quality of life right now and it is killing me.  What kind of withdrawls will I go thru?

I look forward to any and all advise anyone can give me!!

Thanks,
Wyldrose

Hi.  Welcome here.  Sorry your life took a turn because of an animal.

I hope you get a lot of advice here.  Some of the people here are detoxing right now, some in early recovery, some relapsing, mom's seeking advice for loved ones, and even some long term recovered pros.

Something that I didn't read in your post was that you liked your pills.  We addicts love our pills.  That's is what makes our recovery so difficult.

Did you like the buzz they gave you?

It doesn't sound like your PM doctor wants to loose you as his patient if that's all he offered for you.

Hang around, and people here will help you.

I am sorry about what happened to you..as for the meds..you are going to have to taper very slowly from the xanax, the w/ds can be very serious..and the others ..i say cold turkey or you'll have to stick to a taper schedule..If you can have enough self-control then tapering may help..somas just stop. From what i know about Effexcor..you should not stop that cold turkey..Talk to your dr about that..I wish I had more info..more should be responding..I am here if you want to pm me..(private message)..You can do this..
