Percocet Withdrawal

My mother recently stopped taking her percocet and is now severly and uncontrolably depressed. Anyone have any ideas how to counter-act her depression and detox?

Hello-
I just read your question and sorry to see no one has been able to post, but I am!!
I am not sure how long your Mom has been on the percocets, but I was just on them heavily for a year and after a ride in the ambulance and being hospitalized 6 wks ago, I had to find out the hard way that i was severely addicted to them.  
When yopu stop using mind-altering drugs your "real feelings" slowly come flooding back and that is what I needed help with after I came off of them.
I go to DAILY 12 step recovery mtgs between Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA because of the shortage of mtgs of NA where I live) and slowly the denial of it all is gradually lifting.
It is not easy but worth the work to get off them!  Maybe you can check on line for local mtgs, get a phone# and find someone who can call your Mom and get her to a meeting.  This happened to me originally a couple of yrs back and I was able to just stop but some people can DIE from the progression of this disease and disease IT REALLY IS!!
***Only a selected few get a second chance at this and that scares me straight to a meeting every single day!!

I cant beleive nobody here has helped you yet. I just posted here for the first time today and am still waiting to see if someone will awnser my questions. Looks like there are people posting here today so hopefully someone will post to our questions and help us soon. Im needing awnsers pretty fast too.
