Percocet addiction

My husband is addicted to 30 mg Percocet. Is soboxon w the best way to go? I've read soboxon can be addictive and very long process.  Any other options?

Have you consulted his physician yet? I assume he's being perscribed? They have his charts and really know what's best. What does your husband think about detoxing and remaining clean?

The decision to use Sub as part of the detox/recovery process is not an easy one.  Buprenorphine (the opiate in Suboxone) is actually much stronger, with a much longer half life than the Oxycodone.  How much does your husband take, and how long has he been taking it?  Has he ever tried to getclean before?  If so, what did he do?

If his usage isn't overly huge, it may be better for him to try to either just taper off the Oxy, or go cold turkey.  Don't get me wrong, Sub has its place in recovery, but it isn't a way to avoid w/ds, and if he isnt taking a large amount, it wouldn't be a very good idea to go to Sub.  He would be going backwards.  He WILL have w/ds either way, either from the Oxy or the Sub.  The severity of the w/d will vary depending on if he tapers, or goes cold turkey.

If you could provide some more info, we would be better able to advise you about his options.
