Percocet and Vicodin

Percocet and Vicodin

I am currently recovering from back surgery and am taking 2 Percocet 10mg every 8 hours per the directions.  I ran out today and tomorrow is a holiday so I won't be able to get a script until Tuesday.  I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway.  I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet?  If so, how much should I take?

I realize this is a rather more conservative question than some, but I had one bad experience a couple of months ago when I ran out and I didn't take anything. I don't want to go through that again.  If you have any advice I would appreciate it.

Again, I do understand that my situation is not anywhere near as dire as some that I have read about, but I am trying to be cautious as I am obviously experiencing some addiction already and want to get off the meds as soon as the doctor will implement a safe titration plan for me.  In the meantime, I just want to get through the next few days.

Thank you.

Vicodin is not quite as strong as percocet and you have to make sure you dont go over the tylenol. How much tylenol is in each tablet? However it is still a narcotic and will keep you from going into w/d's.

many 5 mg pills have the same tylenol as 10 mg pills..so check ur tylenol and be safe with it..4000 mgs is the daily dose/max daily dose/of tylenol..when u r ready to quit come back and post on the forum...hydrocodone should help/not quite as strong as oxycodone in percocet but very close...be safe and remember u r at low doses right now and this doesnt get any easier
