Percocet vs. Lorcet

Percocet vs. Lorcet

Hi Guys! I have a question that I hope some of you might have an answer to. I am VERY SOON going to stop taking Lorcet 10/650, which was actually supposed to start tomorrow, until my Husband told me that he had to work the weekend & to see if I could stretch the pills until Mon. He was able to get me some Percocet & asked if that would help get me through. I said I'm not sure & then realized that the 2 have different ingredients. I don't even think their part of the same family, other than the Tylenol. Anyway, I've been taking mostly the Percocet to save the Lorcet but I also noticed to feel some acheiness & like I was gonna jump outta my skin. Out of curiosity I haven't taken a Lorcet since 3:30 p.m yesterday & around 4:00 today I really started feeling pretty yuck, but instead of taking the Lorcet, I tried the Percocet again instead. I felt ALOT better 30 mins. later. So I guess what Im trying to figure out is if the Percocet can help me get off the Lorcet (I know that sounds kinda crazy) or do they have some of the same ingredients? I DEFINETELY feel achy & stuff but I think the Percocet is helping TREMENDOUSLY!!! Is it all in my head? Like I said it's only been about 26 hours without the Lorcet so any info or help you can give would be great!!!! Thanks for listenening!!!!!

Percs are oxycodone, Lorcet is hydrocodone.  The percocet is actually more potent.  They are both morphine derivitives and you will still have to detox if you substitute one for the other.

percocet is equally as addictive. you will just become addicted to that, if not worse. so, if what you are asking will it help you detox? no it will keep you addicted. oxycodone, hydrocodone. structurally different, both opoids.

CinCee is right about the pharmocology...it sounds to me as if you are starting to hit wd's early while still doing the perc's instead of the lorcet. You are describing classic wd symptoms. And they are occurring while taking the perc's but not your normal dose of hydro....the perc's will help you stretch your stash - but the w/d will not change. Good luck. It can be done.
