Percocets vs. Oxycontin

I have been clean off Oxy for a month and a half now (actually all drugs).  I did used to take lortabs or percocets if I couldnt find the oxys.  I have been looking up information about these drugs because my grandmother has chronic back pain and she has to take percocets for pain.  My family knows about my oxy addiction so when they found out that percocets have oxycodon in the they freaked.  I tried to tell her it ok bc she is taking it for the right reasons and not abusing pain killers like I was.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERNCE BETWEEN PERCOCETS AND OXYCONTIN?

Percs don't have Oxy in them, they are them, basically.  Percocet and Oxycontin are the same drug, which is Oxycodone.  I highly recommend that people get to know the drug they're taking (for any medicine) rather than the brand names.  Oxycontin is Oxycodone in a concentrated form for longer sustained release.  Lots of people have pain that breaks through that four hour window, or can't tolerate the pain when it's allowed to grow as one dose wears off before it's time to take the next one.  So, the Oxy releases this same dose over a 12 hour period.
