The forum has been very busy lately and i just want to remind everyone to be careful when giving advice.  We are not doctors and it isnt up to us to give medical advice to others.  None of us know what underlying problems someone may have.  OTC supplements are fine to talk about.   We are not here to answer questions on passing a UA nor are we here to help someone dose meds that are getting them from the street.  That is way to dangerous.  We are here to support others who are struggling.  We want this to be a safe place to come where we can all talk freely about our addiction.  Most of know the lonelyness and feelings of helplessness that come with this.  We need to let them know they are not alone.  We also need to be honest about this addiction as there is nothing glamorous about it.  Each one of us brings something to this forum and that is what makes this place great.  Together we are making a difference in peoples lives and that is amazing~~~~~~sara

I am wishing u the best in ur recovery sweatinit..it is a constant battle sometimes..and we become tired...but it is a battle we can win if we put our minds to it
The strength to not use is within us....the weakness that causes us to use also lies within us
Perhaps u r growing tired sweatinit...can be a good place to be

Recovery is a slow process.  We learn as we go.  I too thought that once the pills were gone it was done and over.  It was only beginning.  I am and always will be a work in progress.         sara

Good point. Notice you have not heard a peep from me :)...I have been on here sicne Jan 2010. In the beginning I thought that all I had to do was get through w/d. Now I know much differently! How can i give advice when i dont really know?

Still here, just listening and learning. Its been a process for me for sure.

Thank you to the moderators and the ppl who support this site. You guys ROCK!

I just would like to commend the moderators who take the responsibility of house cleaning in order to keep the site worthy.  It sure has become a positive asset to my process of recovery.

The motive behind the majority of my posts are to let someone know that they are not alone and that recovery is always a possibility while they are breathing.  Ultimately, I think we all get out of this site exactly what we put in.

It took me 10 months of been clean before I felt confident in talking to others about what they are going through, also I only advise on codeine and alcohol my DOCs.That said I will still congratulate everyone on their clean time no matter what their DOC.I remember been accused of been part of a clique and ignoring someone because I didn't reply to a post,it was about a DOC I'd never used, hence I didn't reply.
Great post as usual Sara,

Denise

Thanks Sara! Excellent point!
IBK: I also heard that from my sponsor. Our sponsors refer to P-99 in 12&12 "...to understand rather than to be understood". Good point also!

And please people, if you don't have experience with something, don't give advise about it. This is serious business and when people come back and ask a question, they don't get an answer. Just because you read about it doesn't mean you know about it. It is okay not to know, we don't know everything. So only help when you can answer all questions. Too many newcomers are talking when they should be listening. My sponsor used to tell me to close my mouth and open my ears.....
