Please respond ASAP. Marijuana question

I'm 14 years old and about 2 to 3 weeks ago was my first time smoking weed. I took two hits but never got stoned or high. Afterwards, the day after I ended up with a 101 fever and I was sick with the Flu like symptoms for 3 days. I found out that drinking alcohol at the same time of smoking weed is never a good idea and can proove fatal. And so I stopped drinking while smoking it. And the amount I smoked 2 to 3 weeks ago was about 5 bucks worth which is a small small amount and it's an indica type of weed called Afgoo and its more of a stone kind of weed rather than a "High" feeling. And I double checked with my friend and he told me it wasn't laced with any other drugs because he was smoking it too. And so yesterday I gave it another shot accept I only smoked one tiny tiny little petal and it was only one or two hits of this small little thing. And so this morning I woke up with a soar throat kind of like a cold symptom type, and then this evening which it is currently 3:06 pm, and I have a 99.3 fever. I don't know if I'm just still getting used to the weed or not because I went to google answers and everyone said that It's normal to have that especialy when it's your second time smoking it. And they assume and are almost possitive that its the "Placebo Effect" where it's more in my mind than me really being sick and so I was just wondering if you have any clue what this could mean or be and yes I was stupid and apparently the second time was enough to tell me that my body is probably not weed friendly and so I'm stopping now and I'm actually not addicted at all but I would think that it was such a small small amount yesterday that it wasn't enough to get me high which it wasn't because I wasn't high. And it would of probably only sold for about 1 or 2 bucks for the petal. And the type I tried yesterday was actually called "Sativa" which is a more uplifting and more of a "Mental High" unlike the indicia which is a body high. But in general it didn't do anything and so yeah I just wonder what it might be and to hear from a doc instead of others just to double check and not to mention, I didn't drink at all after or before smoking it. And I also want to know how long you might think it might last for untill I get over it. Thank you and anytime as soon as you can reply would be great.

agree with avis...get to a doctor if you are having health concerns.

an added note:

my son starting smoking pot at 14...by the time he was 20, he was addicted to crystal meth.  he now has HIV and is in jail for the umpteenth time.

what i want you to know is that you have choices in your life...make good ones.

Okay this is really starting to **** me off. The last time I tried that little petal was a day before winter break which was two weeks ago and I had the cold as I said but I still have cold symptoms now, and when I got home from school I checked my temp because I wasn't feeling well and it said 99.8. So I don't know what's going on at all. My tonsils are so so so soar that I can't even swallow without it hurting so much and my right lymph node on my neck is swollen. I don't know what's wrong with me. This is rediculus. I had to have been over this by now and right now it's just getting worse. I havn't done anything since the last time I smoked that petal and I still have cold symptoms if not worse.

Listen like many have said before me .. if i never started smoking weed drinking excessively and popping pills randomly at age 16 my life wouldn't suck as bad as it does now. I can't keep money in my bank accoutn i am 21 and dont have many things to show for it. Weed makes you lazy, paranoid and you spend your money uselessly. I am depressed more often then not and I know this and still can't not smoke.  Find some hobbies and stick to them.

Hi again~  (tail between legs   :(     )

To bmdad and lee~
You're both so right...I often say that so much is lost when sending a text or e mail; the inflection and therefore the point can get lost.  I think I just got hyped up because of such a young kid posting...it hits home and the "Mama bear" comes screaming out!
I'm usually not that way at all.  If kmb reads this: don't respond to my post. It sounds snotty now that I re-read it.  I'm back on track now and sorry...    You are all such nice people;very understanding...

Love you guys(and gals)~

Vicki

Glad you took my post the right way!!!...lol
It can be so easy to get side tracked on a topic as I have done it many times myself. We usually do it without thinking about it. Lord knows I'm guilty of it!

very good post, you are so right...interpersonal communication is important, its hard to judge a post simply by whats written!

Every post can be taken different ways by everyone. Facial expressions are a great way to judge on how to make sense of what someone is saying. But with this being a forum it is not possible. Everyone could probably take any post on here at any given time the wrong way. There are two sides to every story and I can see both of them. Lets keep this post on track and hopefully he will always remember this and never go down the road of using drugs. He is so young so hopefully with the right advice he will always keep it in the back of his mind. I think if anyone wants to argue their point it should be done on the social side instead of wasting space on someone's post. Hope I didn't offend anyone because I do not mean too at all!! We could go on for hours on end trying to get our opinions across but this forum isn't about that. It won't get us anyone as we all have different viewpoints. We are here to support one another and offer advice.

vicki, i dont think kmb is saying there is ever a "good" age to start smoking pot, i think she is only saying that there comes an age were this kid can make better decisions and he WILL make his own.

To: kmb22~

I'm just curious...seriously~   What is a good(older) age to start smoking pot?  How about other illegal drugs?   I'll share your thoughts with my 19 yr. old daughter...

The first time I tried pot was when I was 14, I didn't like it. I didn't start smoking heavily until I was 20 and I quit real easily, but my dad on the other hand is a 20+ year addict, so are my uncles and grandma. I never had trouble quitting.

Just stay away from drugs period, they end up consuming you in the long run.

yes exactly...there are very few teenagers who don't dabble or try things out.

my motto is too much of anything makes you an addict.

not everyone who tries drugs becomes addicted to them....and a lot of people just try them or use them recreationally and are fine.

i have tried, coke, acid, ecstacy, mushrooms (in my late teens early 20's)....i never became addicted to them....in fact i hated cocaine.

but ya at 14, your brain isn't even fully developed...i don't think putting something in your body that can alter yourself is a good idea at that age, or ever really.

but i also live in reality and realize at some point or another most teenagers are going to try drugs, so if you must, at least wait until you are older and not AS impressionable.  although 19 is still young, it's not 14.

yeah i thought your post was very logical---cant tell a 14 year old to never do drugs, but try to help him say no untill he is wise enough to decide for himself

thank you, ya i wasn't telling him to do drugs, never starting is the answer, but if someone tried to tell me that when i was 18/19....in fact people did try to tell me that.

obviously i wouldn't condone a 14 year old doing drugs.

and i think this is a very fair statment...anyway to it she was tellin him to not do drugs now, at 14 thats about all you can tell him, he is not going to give this phrase two thoughts when he is 17, but if we can help to prevent him from usin now, maybe by that time he will be wise enough to make his own decision. good post "kim"

Just wanted to say congrats to you for getting on here and asking advice. Most people your age don't even the consider the repurcussions associated with drugs. I think it's amazing that you have enough common sense to realize how much harm drugs can cause. Like many said, most start off smoking weed and then progress to harder drugs. I look back and still wish I would have never started smoking it. I never got into harder drugs but the only reason behind this is probably because I joined the Marine Corps right after I graduated. When I came home on leave I didn't have enough fingers to count all my friends that had started using coke and other drugs. I'm sure I would have been right there with them if I would have stayed around home. Most of them did eventually grow out of it but there are a select few that are still abusing drugs to this day and their life is in shambles.
Would I have grown out of it?...... Maybe
Could I be hanging out with the ones still using?.....Probably
I lost my older sister to drug abuse. We were a very close middle class family and never we never thought it could hit so close to home. It can happen to anyone at any given moment. Her use started with the occasional joint and then she started abusing pills. She never did get in to hardcore drugs, but they don't have to be hardcore to kill you. Our bodies can only handle so much before it can't take it anymore. It sounds as if you are allergic to it so don't chance trying it again. Certain allergic reactions can drop someone on spot without allowing a second chance. Feel fortunate that these couple of times weren't that serious. The next you may not be so lucky. My parents are still devastated with the loss of a child and I know you would not want your parents to live life with the pain my parents are living with. I'm not saying all this to preach, just want to let you know that the risks are there. You seem very mature for your age which is great! You are a step ahead of most others your age. You stumbles across a great forum. Everyone here says what they do to help you because they care. Most of us would not wish addiction on our worst enemy. Addiction always starts somewhere and with the so called "safe drugs". No drug out there is safe. It starts small and will progress.
As for being contagious.....I wouldn't think so as long as you know it was from a allergic reaction. It is flu season so you may have some flu bug or cold. Allergic reactions are not contagious.
Best of luck to you. You have earned my respect for coming on here with your questions. I wish everyone your age had the guts to make life changing decisions like you did!

I'm 19 years old. First of all smoking pot WILL lead to other drugs!!! It's been tested it's been proven ask 95% of us. What i will tell you because i'm sure you are tired of hearing that is some things to protect yourself. All over the world there are different names that mean different things for pot. Salvia is not just weed, it is a holusinagin (sp?) and is actually legal is some parts of the US but not a very smart idea. Cronic is usually coke/crack with weed. The list goes on and on but that just a peek into the seedy world you stuck your foot in. The point is you don't know what you are doing, you dont know what you are getting. Not only because you might very well be allergic to the stuff but you are 14 years old. My brother is your age and if i caught him doing the things that I did when i was youger like smoke that sh*t i would kick his a$$. Listen it is not a good or a safe path to go down. Stay safe dude and feel better!!!

"Maybe wait until you're older"  ???

Come on !!   How about NEVER ???

Al:  Re: your symptoms.  I'd proceed as though you have a virus that you don't want to spread to your gf.  Wait until you feel 100% to be on the safe side.  :)

You've come to a great conclusion...stay on that track.  You sound like a smart guy!

Take good care...and check in with us...

um, this is so strange, i have my medical marijuana license because i have crohn's disease.  i don't smoke recreationally, only when i feel like i am going to have an attack.  i have never had this kind of reaction to weed or heard of anyone having this kind of reaction.

of course, everyone is different, maybe you are allergic to pot or maybe it's god telling you to wait to smoke until you're older and your brain is fully developed.

or maybe you caught something (like a cold) from sharing a pipe or joint with someone who was sick.

our bodies carry a bazillion different types of bacteria (even if we don't show physical signs) at any given time you could be carrying 10 different kinds of colds and spread them to others.

anyway i don't really think you're gonna get a straight answer.

i understand you're young and you want to experiment....but maybe just wait until you are much much older or never start.

hey dude....your last post made my day...if I could only keep 1 person from doing
what I have done in my life by helping out in this forum it would be so so worth it to me and hearing you say your stoping and taking the advise given by all here...
well your that dude so I thank you for posting your decision
I wish I had someone even try to be strait up with me b/4 I started but I learned the hard way...as for your reaction ....like all reactions its the histamine that naturally protects
our system that sorta goes crazy...its good you found out b/4 you had a sever reaction
each time the body gets hit....like for instance a bee sting if your allergic your histamine goes nuts so thats why your nose is running and your throat is raw from post nasal drip
next time it could be your throat closing from anabolic shock  witch is the next stage
each time your exposed it gets progressively worst if your allergic....im no dr but I dont think your contagious but use your own judgment ..might not want to make out with you girl till your shure ....I noticed you referred to god in your post...im a believer also but dident find him till later in life....at your age if you put god first you will
stand a much greater chance of making it thew all the pier pressure and will
develope a healthy relationship with your girl friend ...one that will last....annyway
its getting late im going to crash....good luck and god will bless your life if you give him a chance....Gnarly
