Possible damage to eyeballs from cocaine use

Hi,

I have tried cocaine many times, but only in the last month or so have I been using it very frequently.  The rear part of my nose was ulcerated somewhat badly, but it just stopped.  I was getting strings of blood within my mucous on a daily basis until now.  I've been squirting mass quantities of Saline up through my nose, I guess it finally scabbed up and healed.  

My eyes, however, do not look that great.  They don't hurt, which I guess is a good sign - but if you roll them, right near the tear duct they seem to be permanently bloodshot and a little yellow.  The yellow color has cleared up a lot since I quit, but in the right eye there is what appears to be some darkness to the white of my eye (same location near the tear duct).  I haven't noticed any vision impairment compared to what my vision has been, and the eyeballs aren't hurting at all.  I was wearing 1-2 week contact lenses while I was doing the coke, but they've been removed for at least a week.  Just wondering if I need to see an eye doctor, or if my eyes will heal up.

One day they'll create a drug that actually emulates Dopamine and doesn't just rape your existing supply.  ;)

Im not sure what you mean by yellowing of the eyes.  I can tell you yellowing of the eyes is never a good thing.  Yellow oozing is almost always a sign of infection.  In your case, probably of the tear duct. This could easily spread to your brain causing encephalitis. Yellowing of the whites of the eyes is a sign of advancing liver disease.

If this problem is clearing up without any treatment, it may continue to do so.  Still, you should see a doctor a soon as possible.

Additionally to my last question, I'd like to ask this as well: if I did have a viral brain infection or some sort of ocular problem, would I feel any intense pain or anything?  Would I feel nausea or any other related symptom?  I would assume that if I had some sort of serious condition, it would steadily progress for the worse and I'd experience some pain or discomfort/nausea or something.  I tend to be very psychosomatic (cocaine NOT being my drug of choice because of this).

Basically, I want to know whether I'm going to feel some sort of discomfort before I go full blown terminal ;)

newa would be...it's not your eyes....the bad news is it might be
your liver. coke and methadrine are a one way death trip!

First of all I'd like to say sorry as a newcomer to this forum for my aggressive behavior to disjoiteds comments.  My frustration turned into anger at others, I know you wre trying to help, so sorry again if I offended anyone.

Disjointed - your post later seemed to make sense, I have been to my aunts house and replaced most of the benzos, only keeping a few for emergencies.  She is a little senile so I'm hoping she won't notice.

Perhaps my feelings of depression are in fact caused by the difficulties of facing real life and its responsibilities.  After all life is pretty shitty sometimes lets face it.  I guess maybe I need to learn how to cope with it.

You aked if I  had tried detoxing/rehab, you are close to the truth - I don't feel like I can talk about it the way i feel right now.

You asked if I had been evealuated by profssionals before the implant - yes i had a psychiatric assesment as well as a medical one at the clinic.  Maybe I should go back and talk to them about getting some help with how i am doing right now.

I just happened open this post that I posted a long time ago while looking for cocaine in google.com's search engine!  It's ironic and coincidental, and I'm doing coke again.  I don't understand why I do it.  It makes me feel HORRIBLE.  My nose is in a horrible state of permanent damage.  If you take a peek right inside the nostrils, it is all red with white infected bumps right where the hairs come out.  I'm gonna die, and I do care.  I don't want to die, but I don't know what to do.  I hate my life.  I guess I'm not the only one to go this way.  Bye.

Hi my first time on here. So I did my ritual and got all set up and did a big fat line,got myself settled at the computer. I read all about the nose hole issues and yes thats me to. In my mind right now I don't want to "waste" it (the coke). Yes I clearly have issues and I am right at this moment saying it. This is how I need to start admitting that I am a coke head. I will let the ones I want to know read this and tell them it is me. holy-as my nose just dripped on the key board,crazy,stupid, Any ways my problem/question began with my nose.....after a spell of snorting it I get a straw and drip water up my nose keeping my head tilted so it goes down my throat.Well 4 or 5 days ago i did this and how I noticed I was getting the beginning signs of damage,not really sure what is going on but obviously a whole has started(for sure cuz now 5 days later it is)well it didn't go down my throat I actually felt it going into what ever that tube is called that goes to my ear.It is only about 2 or 3 skinny straw drips but for the next couple of days I was moving my bottom jaw back and forth to try and get it gone and jumping up and down on one foot like when you go swimming and get water in your ear,only this feels like it's in a differant spot in there..Anywhere.It's pretty well gone but I feel something,I don't really know how to explain the sensation in my neck behind my ear.My eyes are glossy and red with big pupels well ya of course cuz i'm on the ****.But the whites also seem off-not bright and visine doesn't do the trick,maybe a little yellow,but I was looking at someones glass of milk today(a couple people actually) and I said what is that you're drinking,weak chocolate milk?  They said what are you talking about? And then jokingly Have you been smoking crack, it's white.Ha ha ha we all laugh. If they only knew my coke habit. Soon.Colors seem a bit off to me sometimes,not always and not often. Yet. I know get my butt into the doctors.There's another issue. I don't want to go my family doctor. He doctors my hole family and it's a fare size. Pride,embarassment and so on..........I got to figure out what to do there.Anyway if anyone knows anything about my eye issue could you please let me know. It's not gonna be good. But it's time to deal,am I ever glad-thankful that I found this website. I could totally relate to lots of stuff that your going through,it's nice to get this out. k  buy for now.

Hi and welcome to the forum. This is an old post and sometimes get overlooked. How long have you used? If you are having to put water in your nose to help the coke go down then is sounds like you are making a nice hole in your nose. When i deviated my septum from cocaine i would have to pour water in also to get those drips. When the cocaine sits in your nasal passage and won't go down it will eat away at your nose so much faster and putting water in there to help is playing with fire if you are using a lot of coke. that's when i would get those monster drips sometimes and i started to have a couple overdoses. As far as it feeling it's in your ear, well i promise you that happened to me too(although rare) and i could not hear that well for a day or 2. Im not sure about the eyes, i have heard cocaine can seep through there, but not sure how true that is.

Can I ask how long, how much and do you want to quit? I am a cocaine addict now clean and would love to talk if your still around. this is an evil drug and will kill u faster than almost all them.
