Pregnant and on pain management

Has anyone else been pregnant and on percocets10 mg and Prozac? I'm new to this and I hope people do not judge, I am scared enough and don't need criticism but would like to hear from other mothers who were in the same situation and how there baby's turned out. I have a 6 year old now who I had taken tylenol3 and Zoloft with during the 2nd and 3rd trimester and he was perfect. But here I am, 34 and pregnant and am dealing with a herniated disc bulge in my c6-c7 and degenerative disc disease. I have constant pain in my neck and have been on pain management for a lil over a year, we had done epidural cortisone shots 3x and it helped a lil bit. We were gonna go ahead with the surgery but now I'm pregnant and my Doctors know and say its fine bit that the baby might withdrawal after being born. I feel guilty and horrible but I am a bartender/server and have to work so I need to take my pain meds, sometimes 4-8 a day. If anyone else has been in the same predicament please let me know how things turned out. Thank you in advance

As long as your doctors are aware of what you are taking they will be able to monitor you and the baby.  It is the ones who dont tell their doctors what they are taking.  There is a lady from the pain management forum who has some excellent articles on pain meds and pregnancy.  Her name is jadedsweetheart.  I will go and look and see if i can find the one i am talking about.

I was reading your post and from my experience doctors give you Percocet because the placenta will absorb most of the narcotic. Prozac on the other hand I'm not sure of. Best thing to do is research the pain pills best you can on the Internet and see what you find. I only know this cause of my children and what the doctor prescribed my wife. If your in pain then you have to use the pp's. I would get surgery after your lil one is born and get off them all together after that. Good luck.
