Prescription fraud

Prescription fraud

Could someone please tell me how long it would take for a pharmacy, the doctors or the DEA to find out if you had a few different prescriptions going at once? It's been over 5 months since it has happened. Used different dr's and pharmacies.

If you have been using your medical insurance to  pay for the prescriptions the insurance company will send letters to all the doctors you received the legitimate prescriptions from.  I don;t know if they contact anyone else.

Dak is correct about the insurance. On any medication, especially schedule II narcotics like hydrocodone that cannot be filled early, it will come up in the computer automatically. Ifyou do not use insurance and u are not going to different chain pharmacies like longs or rite aid then unless by some chance that your different doctors and/ or pharmacists are talking about you over lunch (risking their licenses y mentioning your name) they won't know.

About 3 years ago I was Dr. and Hospital shopping in 5-6 different towns...I had legal scripts and was taking them to different pharmacies...My point is my husband was working with the Narcotic Task Force and knowing what I was doing to get my "Vics" he asked his commander at work...He was told that as long as my insurance and the pharmacys didn't notice then I probally wouldn't get caught..but ..and theres always a but...If I did then my insurance would drop me and I probally would be contacted by the pharmacy because they were legal scripts and the hospitals have a "black" list of drug seekers and I would be put on it...And yes it is still illegal...Just be careful and dont do it anymore after 5 months your probally safe so lets keep it that way...By the way I've been clean about 2 months now thanks to the Thomas reciepe...

Hey, I'm wondering the same thing!  I have seen like 5 different doctors since December of 2006 just to get Oxycodone and I've also used my insurance at only two different pharmacies.  I have another two pharmacies that don't know about my insurance, I pay cash from time to time at those pharmacies.  Luckily, Oxycodone is a cheap pain med without insurance!  I have had problems with Walgreens Pharmacy, one of the pharmacies I use my insurance at.  They started calling the doctor who prescribed Oxycodone and they told that doctor that I've been getting Oxy's from a list of other doctors!!!  Does anyone know of the risk with that?  Lately, I have been avoiding Walgreens!  I'm thinking of paying cash with the two pharmacies that don't think I have insurance because like I said Oxy's are at least cheap!  I can get like 80 of them for only $18.00.  Any advice would be very helpful!  Thanks so much!
