ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
Psychiatric Hospital

Psychiatric Hospital

My husband and I were separated at the time he was sent to a psychiatric hosptial for drug overdose, and I have told the hospital of my husband's behaviors so that he would not connect him to programs here in my state when he was discharged.  My husband asked me what I had told the doctors because they told him they had talked to me he had to stay a little longer.  I would not take calls from him only the doctors.  At one point the doctor acted as if I was lying because my husband had told him we had worked it out and we were going back together. He said we were telling to different stories.  I told the doctor that we were not and if he gets out knowing that I talk to them he was going to kill me.  They notified me that he had been released and 3 days later he wound up in my state broke in my house and stabbed me in my liver and kidney, all the time smiling as if it were a joke.  Can the hosptial be liable for any of this?

This is a forum for people who are trying to over come addiction.I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you,and I hope you are doing ok and that your husband has been caught and is in jail and will be paying for what he did to you,but I think that as far as the hospitals liability goes, you need to seek legal advice.Best of luck to you...Kim
